Christmas has indeed come early, thanks Kate. This is right up there with BBC FOUR reshowing The Box of Delights on the 7th. I love all stuff about Christmas and pre-Christian traditions and have ordered myself a book called Santa Claus, Last of the Wild Men as some light festive reading.
@LibraryofWhispersASMR I will let you know if it is any good. I have also ordered a copy of Washington Irving's "Old Christmas" which compiles his three festive tales of, the then dying out, English Christmas traditions set in and around an old stately home in the North of England. They are from his first publication "The Sketchbook" and were a huge influence upon the young Charles Dickens and inspiration for A Christmas Carol, as well as reviving interest in celebrating Christmas in America.

The cost of the book was half a crown ❤
