Phil that looks like a lot of work for those dashboards you would think that the manufacturers should be able to fit a collapsable panel in the glove box or a replaceable panel on the dashboard.
I'm sure in one of the salvage channels (may not have been Phil's) they did a Skoda and it just had a replaceable airbag unit in the dash. Why can't all manufacturers do that?
Stupid question maybe, but did you check the rear belts? VAG cars, especially Audi have a habit of blowing them when the curtain airbags go even if no-one is in the seat.
Those dashboards look real pigs Phil! It would have been nice to see a few cut ins just showing where the mounting points were. Should be able to get the vent off the old dashboard? Been a bit of a journey this one, hope it rewards you for all the hard work mate 🤞

Changing the airbags etc looks like a a days march to me - I guess that the more you do the easier it gets but still an awful lot of faffing! Anyway another job off the list and the end should be in sight for the Q3 hoprefully!
I have no ideal why the engineers decided to integrate airbags with the dash cover. They used to just be nice little drop in modules. I'm sure they manufactures told them to do it so more parts could be sold or more cars totaled out so new cars will be sold. A lot of small cars if the airbags deploy the car is instantly totaled due to cost of air bags, dash, and headliner even if the outside is barely touched.
Phil top of centre console £90 I know from personal experience I cut 15 mm copper pipe and araldited in position second hand ones are like rocking horse s&*t

I do my best Lee, alot of people underestimate how much time editing takes to create these videos. On top of working all day and spending time with the family. I usually pick cetain videos to concentrate on replying to and then kind of neglect others! I masssively appreciate all the support i get you you guys 👍

Airbags lights on probably cause you not got the crash sensors on front bumper plugged in yet mate
It was the crash sensor on the top of the front panel bud, i had wired it up the wrong way round 😀

Audi airbag modules can be reset with any diagnostic easy. It’s the headlight coding that’s the issue

Done a good job on dashboard. Just goes to show car makers just don't want the general public repairing there cars .
