Pennsylvania rail fans welcomes you back to Pennsylvania, Jaw Tooth!! Glad to see you enjoying our engineering marvel, "The Horseshoe Curve" and our many other railroad related gems. Enjoy your visit and don't be shy about returning - Your videos are fantastic!! May God give you safety and health.
The 2-train meet is reminiscent of my first view of railroading when i was 2 years old from the 3rd floor apartment i lived in, but it was EMD F-units, and cars from the 1940s/50s era.
Love the shots above the rail cars. I grew up in D.C. (long time ago). My dad used to take us to see the big rail yard and round house between Rhode Island Avenue and New York Avenue, NE. I think we perched on 9th St bridge. Could stare at that scene all day long. There was still steam working. The C&O was also running E8 diesels. Those were like the DC 3's of rail -- beautiful creations. Classic looks. Stay well Jaw Tooth, and take good care of the dogs and cats
Wow. What a cool super long westbound at Cassandra! I can't believe the plate steel on the bulkheads didn't appear to be tied down in any way. Great catch JT! 😊😊😊
Nice video of trains that you saw at the Brickyard crossing near Altoona, Pennsylvania and at Cassandra, Pennsylvania. The crossing at Brickyard looks like a messy location with all that grease along the side of the road. The empty coal car train was long and needed those two mid-train DPUs.
Beautiful filming. Love my favorite LS Locomotives. Awesome long trains too. Cool double stackers.😊I love DPIS..❤you are one of the best filming trains and more we've seen yet Mr JT.ove hearing your salute toot from locomotives. ❤️ Thanks so much. Enjoyed this. 😊😊
14:48 ns 8147 had a nice horn ngl. One thing I would like to say though. Even if NS is having problems with keeping employees and managing profit at the moment, the black horse will always have a part in my heart. Amazing video JT🐎💣
When I was a kid, we lived in Leechburg, PA, along the PRR/PC/Conrail/now NS double track Conemaugh division. It ran from ConPit junction on the west slope to WestPit junction on Pittsburgh's North Side, there were 26 trains a day on the division, mostly "drag freight" to clear the main for passengers, mail trains, and manifest freight.
Another great video of trains and seeing them going through Altoona here was really great especially right near the tracks there where you were, Thanks for another great video Thank You Jaw Tooth.😊😊 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
That pair of NS (EOT) DPU's @6:13 were definitely "churning and burning"!! Great audio JT. As those units rolled away (from your camera position), I saw the sand flying, and then noticed an operator onboard the "lead" DPU unit 7249...you can barely make out his image in the cab window. Very cool... 👍👍👏👏
The first train was awesome - long and heavy! The rest of these trains are definitely big - especially that empty double coal train :) A lot of goods moving on these rails.
I really like you style. your passionate but not stuffy. I really enjoy when a train shows up you stop talking and just enjoy the trains. Keep up the good work.
Love your channel, JT. I am a computer programmer and I program with your videos playing in the background... it helps with the coding!!! Love your commentary, too!!! Great stuff!
The hard working double EOT DPUs are impressive. The train meet at the bridge was cool. The pup is getting big, always like the critter action. Excellent video, liked it much. Thanks JT!
That was an outstanding group of trains you captured. Best were the manifest freight and speedy empty coal train. Next time at Cassandra, talk to someone about hanging an American flag correctly, blue field upper left. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Small world Brain i captured that same intermodal you captured in Hummelstown Pa. West bound N/S #1016 and N/S #9944 That"s a great place there. Great catches.
I lived in Martinsburg for 5 years, very close to Altoona and was in Altoona all the time. I never went to any of these places. Now back in Windber, I don't get out that way as often, although it's only about 50 miles away. Here we just have the pull from the coal mine, not on a regular basis. Although, it's around a hundred cars with 6 NS power units when they are loaded. It's a very steep grade out of town as they pull towards the mainline. Your coal train video from Altoona may have been out of Windber.
Another great video from you and thanks for bringing those cool trains to our home! Oh yeah and you know how they want to put batteries in everything including locomotives well you know if they did that you'd have to have 25 boxcar loads of batteries to run each locomotive, So if you had a 3 engine pull, you would need 75 carloads of batteries, And maybe 25 carloads of other commodities. Just saying.....
Was just up in that neighborhood yesterday. Went to see the Horseshoe Curve... only to find out that the deck is closed on Mondays and they have closed all loopholes to get up there on your own.... Bummer!
That old bridge (15:00 to 18:45) in the video sure looks like it had a parallel span beside the remaining span at one point in time. Very interesting bridge. Thanks, Brian.
The actual brick manufacturer was located "railroad East" where the Blue metal building is now at... There were beehive type ovens there... First time I was in Altoona, I took an excursion around the curve...and saw the brickyard while it was still intact.. Over the next 5 or 10 years, it was demolished...
I got 133 cars on that first train, counting each stack or truck trailer as a car, though some might have been just articulated cars. 111 on the second train After the two trains passing each other I counted 200 cars on the empty cola train, 100 in front of the DPUs, and 100 behind. I guess Chessie had a puppy since the last time I saw one of your long videos. Good to see that you're in PA. Maybe you'll come to South Jersey once of these days.
I remember seeing coal trains in West Virginia during the 70's. Chessie System in those pre merger days. My dad warned me that there were no laws limiting how fast the coal trains could go. They high balled their cargo constantly. He said people who walked on the tracks got killed constantly there. At that speed there's nothing the train crew can do when they come around curves to find people walking .
I very much enjoy your presentations JT. Because of your knack for finding grades that make their locos (especially their SD70 series) work their tails off you've turned me into a NS fanboy. I also like your shortline documentation of CCET's operations.
Now that I am retired but I am disabled you take me to the wonderful places to watch trains
Hi JT good morning love trains in the rain great video ❤❤❤
Thanks 👍
I can't remember the last time I saw a TIP trailer in revenue service like that. Used to see them all the time when I was a kid.
Thanks for watching 😊
Another outstanding video from JT. Great sounding DPUs. Thanks again for sharing. God bless
The coal train with the 2 DPUs was cool too. And your pets are always the icing on the cake. ❤😊😊 Thanks.
Thank you! 😃
"2 in 1" empty coal trains are now the norm.

You must feedin that puppy "miracle grow"!!! Pretty dog.
UPS short box trailers and long box on the earlier train. Amazing video J.T. You’ve outdone yourself
Thanks for watching 😊
Good morning everyone. Just a few flat spots on the last empty coal train. Great video as always Sir.
Thanks 👍😊
The 2-train meet is reminiscent of my first view of railroading when i was 2 years old from the 3rd floor apartment i lived in, but it was EMD F-units, and cars from the 1940s/50s era.

Thanks for watching😊
❤Another GREAT day of train filming!🎉 LOKI is one handsome boy!

Thanks for watching!😊
Thumbnail pic looks like an extremely realistic model railroad.
That would look good on a layout. It’s pretty realistic looking 😊
Hi JT very nice trains today I love to watch them too like you so beautiful thank you JT❤❤❤
Glad you like them!
Amazing videos Jaw tooth keep up the good work
I was amazed by the piggyback volume on that service!
Love those meets
Thanks for watching!
Very nice video, I liked it! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thank you very much!😊

WOW! At least 2 200 car trains in one video! Keep up the good work, Brian! I appreciate the lengths you go to, to bring us the best of railfan video!
Thanks for watching 😊

Glad to see that the ACU’s are still working on the hill.

Howdy JT! Nice catches for sure! Ya know, I don't remember seeing any rival power on those trains. Kinda unusual lol. Thanks for sharing 🤠
I agree with the one comment you go out of your way and long distances and away from home appreciated sir
Awesome video JT! From the K5LLA to the roaring ACUs to the meet!

@@michaelhewitt258 Hi Mike. Hope your weather has been better than ours! One sunny day this month thus far.
Hi,from Kempsey, NSW,Australia 🇦🇺 That looks like such a pretty place just love watching all your videos.
The hard working double EOT DPUs are impressive. The train meet at the bridge was cool. The pup is getting big, always like the critter action. Excellent video, liked it much. Thanks JT!
Those are manned helpers. They operate east out of Johnstown and West out of altoona.
@@woods840 Great info, thanks!
Altoona has beautiful Raystown Lake nearby. If you get a chance to go out on it it’s worth it! Camped there long ago in the 90s.
That was an outstanding group of trains you captured. Best were the manifest freight and speedy empty coal train. Next time at Cassandra, talk to someone about hanging an American flag correctly, blue field upper left. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Cool shirt 👔, DPU

Wow two train's for the price of one
Now that Chessie has the pup to play with does she not pester the cat as much? Haven't seen much of her.😊
Wow! Great freight trains! Brian! What did you say? But wait theres more! ........?
Good morning 🙏 🌄 Jaw Tooth
hello jaw it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
Very long train . Thank you very much . First train and second train is follow a American railroad example problem in Japan .
I very much enjoy your presentations JT. Because of your knack for finding grades that make their locos (especially their SD70 series) work their tails off you've turned me into a NS fanboy. I also like your shortline documentation of CCET's operations.
I do believe that train at 14:52 had more square wheels than any I have seen lately. Drumming up business for the LORAM rail grinder.
Salut👋
Great place.
Great Catches Mr. Jaw Tooth!
Remember that bridge, isit where you saw that snake ? Cool video JT 🇬🇧
Yes, same place
Great video thank you,
Love your dogs
Thanks !
Interesting that piggy back is still a major method to transporting goods in spite of intermodel.
Great video. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Good Morning Jaw Tooth.
yeah, the new dog is fitting right in.
On the intermodal train, I've seen cars with up to five platforms coupled together. I don't know if this is the maximum allowed.
Thanks for watching 😊
For those who don’t know the sand is to help the wheels get tracking on the rails
Looking at all those Yellow Transportation trailers and now they are no more. 😢
I hope Norfolk Southern knows about the mud and gets rid of it.
Another great video !
AWESOME!!!💯
Lokey trying very hard to be TOP DOG,
Hey Jawtooth. Heard or seen Shoestring lately? I haven't seen him with any videos lately. Hope he's ok.
