Whichever song it was, be it she loves you or I want to hold your hand, I'm pretty sure they didn't get a #1 in the USA until 1964...but possibly in the UK.
Great Video. Definitely, it's got to be, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, by The Beatles. While I was on a trip, for Labor Day Break, in 1998, from St. Paul to Chicago, I found out that Not Only Was It The Beatles #1 Record, but, The #1 Rock & Roll Song Of All Time, before The Eagles' Hotel California & The 5th Dimension Aquarius/Let The Sunshine. I couldn't believe that the Hotel California was #2, since I hate that song. LOL
Decker made a stand against the contraceptive restriction on Catholics in Africa, she was pressured out. Her success is what ruined her, IRS came for their share of the profits but the church said they already spent the money so they went after her. It's a sad story.
Don't mean to pick on your sir WaybackUSA, but it's not called Sugar Snack, it's Sugar Shack. I had to do an edit to fix another one. You did it again, it's not the Shifons, it's pronounced......The Chif-fons.
Man, I couldn't STAND Sugar Shack. I had a big old tube wooden radio by my bedside as a kid, and I would listen to a top 10 countdown before I went to sleep. Sugar Shack was seemingly at Number One for half my adolescence. Another one like that for me was Mountain of Love. My friend Richie phonetically learned all the words to Sukiyaki. Paul and Paula was anachronistically square in '63.
Interesting information but constantly dismissing today's music, artists, and technology kills the cool and makes you sound like a Karen creating content for old farts! And I'm not even a youngster. It spoils the channel and I'm not subscribing because of that.

like a man, that song was playing on my car radio when I left the church the night I was baptized. Talk about advice, huh!
The Chiffons is pronounced “Shif-ons”, like the fabric.
Great songs!
No mention of Dale & Grace's I'm Leaving It All Up to You. It was #1 when the Kennedys went to Dallas
Wow, man! You flashed me right back there! "This ti-ah-ime...Whatchu gonna do-oo-oo?"
I'm gonna see if I can find that on UA-cam now! Thanks, NO87!
Pretty sure she loves you hit number one in 1964 🎶🎵🤔

I had to quit. The sixties were great. I was there. Today's music is great. Good grief.
I have the exact same thoughts. You can praise the music that you like without trashing another generations music.
@@richardgazinia5482 Agreed. Beating the same dead horse--repeatedly. Very tiresome. Only compensation is it's not an AI narrator.

Favorite Beatles song is "Eleanor Rigby".
I remember, at the time, the joke was "My botyriend's back? You should worry about my boyfriend's FRONT!" 😃

love British music
Debbie Boone, you light up my life.
End Of The World By Skeeter Davis
A summer song
I am 75 and l always believed that Puff the Magic Dragon was about a boy and his make believe friend.
I was a teen and could not stand the 60s Beetles - Hey Jude was more to my liking. Hated the repeating the same 3 or 4 words over & over again.
The Beatles were a 60's band

Glad All Over by The Dave Clark Five

And you sure won't get to listen to any of them here either. 🙄
Where is cliff richard and the shadows
Very disappointing. I was expecting to hear hits from 1963, not some guy droning on about them.
I like hearing the snips of music, but the script and narration is REALLY annoying,
Could have done without the British invasion. Gene Pitney!!
Please! Learn how to correctly pronounce the names of the groups that are the subject of your video-it’s a sign of respect.
While I understand your contempt for today’s music, your boorish comment are a bit much.

“Paul and Paula” stank. It might have appealed to Americans, but those of us who lived in the real world classed it as a Desert Island Discard.
It was thought of as square as hell at the time by just about everybody.
@@TheRealDrJoey So not even Americans liked it?
@@robinharwood5044 I think a lot of 11 to 13 year-old girls bought that record.
@@robinharwood5044 BTW--Any relation to Jim Harwood, the best writer Daily Variety ever had?
@@TheRealDrJoey Very probably not. Never heard of him or Daily Variety.
