Brilliant stuff! I grew up in Glasgow and my gran used to live right next to and overlooking Eastfield depot. Would spend hours watching them and listening to the sounds of the engines and the noise of the loco's goingover the rail joints and you would hear them all through the night. A collection of super nostalgic sounds that brings back lots of memories. great video 👍
For me personally, there's only one colour for the Schnozz on a Class 37, and that's yellow and For some reason I much prefer the Centre head code to be 2 lights, rather than the old actual code. Split head code with lights is ok, but I don't like em as much with no head code and the lower lights. But irrespective of all that, that sound it's just visceral. It brings out my Britishness for some reason. It's Iconic like hearing a Spitfire fly low overhead in a dogfight. Gets yer blood pumping and the adrenaline flowing! So proud to see these old workhorses still flexing their muscle after all these years. 😊. I'm listening to this on headphones, it's like ASMR, but for men!
they are connected electrically and one driver can control the other locos. If its a loco on the back of a train then usually its just providing power for the coaches and there as a backup

They do sound and smell and look the part.
If Class 37 is a diesel locomotive why is it called ‘English Electric’?
How are the locos engine speeds synchronised when there are two or more of them ,I take it that they don't have a driver in all the cabs.
