I remember when I had TikTok and would only trust people with high followings for tips. Now, I immediately regret it! I didn't know much about fitness and was all about "I have to lose weight quickly!" or "I want to spot reduce fat in this or that place" And soon enough, these TikToks influenced me to have a bad relationship with food. So, thank you for calling out some of these videos and giving real advice that's based on science!!! :))

The thing with the water is that the liquid in your food also counts which people do seem to ignore, if I drank a gallon of water I’d feel sick all day but I know other people who can’t get enough😆 you’re so right that it’s all individual. Tik Tok does a fantastic job of generalising advice 🙄

I love this sooo much. ❤️ I find people get so wild with what they think it’s healthy. Intermittent fasting HAS worked for me but mostly because it’s focused me on other things instead of eating absolutely all day. It’s made me realize when I’m actually full. That’s not going to work for everyone. Not everyone needs to skip breakfast. Carbs are not the enemy. I lose so much weight when I eat high carbs as long as I focus on eating whole foods.
You know, it’s really crazy how many fitness influencers there are and we do their workouts and take their advice without knowing if they know anything about fitness at all. But it can be tough if you don’t know where to start.
I hate when people treat intermittent fasting like a miracle weapon for weight loss. It is only a tool you CAN use if you want to, but not the be end of all, ugh. For me, it helps me curb my bad habit of snacking and grazing which i have sadly picked up again ever since my ankle injury (and thus current lack of movement/sufficient distraction, alas.) Hence it helps me to keep my calorie intake under control while i am unable to workout/move much, due to a limited eating window. Nothing more, nothing less.
My nutritionist forbade intermittent fasting as soon as I told her I had hypothyroidism. The Low-Carb diet didn't suit me either because I was in a very bad mood all day, so I eat a lot (A LOT) of vegetables, proteins and carb with moderation.
I work in fitness also and love your videos. Your info is always on point and so well explained. I have definite learned things from watching these. Thank you for representing real and true science based information.
I also make UA-cam videos (as a hobby) and yeah, it is a ton of work, and the thought of having to now also make vertical videos made my brain go "absolutely not, no one even watches the 1000 videos you already on UA-cam, you do not need another platform".
Lol the reason you said why you stayed off tik tok is the same reason why I don’t have tik tok. Ughhhh I can’t stand it! Just people dancing to really annoying songs and pointing!! It’s so corny 😂😂
Do you do any supplements (like collagen, biotin, etc) like I always hear influencers talking about? Would you recommend these things? Or do you feel theyre a waste of money
Hey Olivia! The only supplement I really take is protein powder to help me meet my daily goal. Always remember that they’re called supplements for a reason: they’re there to supplement what you’re not getting in your diet. So I would try to get as much as you can from food first and then use supplements as needed. Hope that helps!
