I'm 4 years late but thinking on getting one of these for future projects and you've solved my question as to how it plugs in correctly. Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you Rusty, I have looked at about 10 vids and this is the simplest to understand. Sold.
thanks for your kind words, I didn't realise I was good at selling hah
I recommend it also. I was going to get an ITC-1000 for $16 USD and build it out for an estimated $45-50, but I found the INK BIRD ITC-308 for $38 before taking the plunge ... and I'm glad I did! It and my old crock pot works beautifully as a sous vide rig!
cheers for watching, yep it sure is the lazy option, cheaper and works perfectly.
Nice demo of the Inkbird ITC-308 - Thank You and Mash On!
Building a ferm chamber came across this vid proper back cataloguing 👍🍻
The inkbird rocks, who wants to piss about with an stc1000 when this is available?
exactly, this was the perfect option for me ;) - works a treat too !
Do you have any idea how many damn videos I watched and forums I've read where no one shows how it actually plugs in and works..until now. Thank you.
awesome, love this comment, thanks.. this was never intended to be a how to video, just one of my earlier rambles. If you've not bought one yet, go buy one! a year on (about a year, maybe?)) I've now got two of them, works perfectly!
I just received my ink - bird in the mail now to find a fridge...thanks for the info !!
inkbird works a treat. Good luck with the fridge hunt, plenty on ebay, some people even give them away, but I wanted one that looked in good condition so my girlfriend wouldn't notice it so much ;)
You know something Rusty I saw that very thing at my local home brew shop the other day and was amazed at the price. I've already got all the gear I need to make my fridge but if I'd of seen this first I'd be following suite. Nice shout and glad you convinced the other half.
it was the quickest, laziest option ;)
+Rusty Homebrew Hey, have you checked the accuracy of the thermostat? I've just bought one yesterday but it's running 4deg over the crappy thing. Can't see a way to calibrate it.
+Graham “Hapless Ginger Brew” Preston hah, hold Set 3 seconds and go to CA

Your the man, I've just been rooting in the bin for the box and the instructions but my other half took it to the card bank. Cheers buddy
Good to know that the curry's budget fridge takes a full size fermenter, on my to do list,
Cheers, subbed too
David,
it's a perfect size for my bucket. cheers
A very good video mate .Thanks Ivan
Cheers, thanks for watching
Hi Rushy, great video. Like all the others I watching loads of vids, which all involved wired etc. This is by far the best one on UA-cam.
Just wondering if you disconnect the fridge thermostat or just leave as it is. Hoping to build one for the summer
I just left it, my fridge ranges from 0-6, I leave it on 5 and then switch it to 6 when I cold crash.
Gonna use one on a keezer I'm building Cheers mate
it's worth every penny, good luck with the keezer build, wish I had the space for one, would be great to pull a pint at home, save all that hassle with bottling too.
Nice updates Rusty
Cheers
The Ink-Bird units are fantastic! I picked up a ITC-310T which is programable. It let's you warm up and cool down the beer to 6 different stages, which is cool. They do a great job regulating the temps. And very reasonably price as you noted. What are you using to head it up? You should change your "Vlog" title to "HBW" and you'll pick-up a load more viewers and great input. Cheers!
Hi guys, thanks for the tip. I'm using a 45W tube heater. I don't think the heater has come on yet, it's quite hot here this week so only the fridge has had to work to cool the temp down to 19 degrees (66 fahrenheit). Looking forward to drinking it :)
Rusty. Great video. Where the heck do you find a "tube heater?" Searched amazon and the internet far and wide and can't find. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers Todd.. just checked my Amazon history, I bought this one for £14 (price has increased) www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ID7UF7A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately doesn't look like it's available the states. Strange. Thanks anyway. Cheers!
hello sir, i'm trying to use this on a regular box freezer and it seems the only thing this controls is the power on and off to the freezer, when it had to cool the only thing it did was power the unit it seems the original thermostat is controlling the freezer compressor still. thx for any help.
Turn your freezer's thermostat temp down to max cool. That way it will always start it's compressor immediately when the inkbird provides power from the cooling relay.
Have you look into getting a deep freezer or it won't work because it gets too cold?
Great video! Did you have to snip off the power plugs to pass the wires through the holes that you drilled in the side of the fridge? Cheers
Yes I did
Hi mate nice video thanks, I'm just about to build exactly this same set up as you. Can I ask what do you set the fridge thermostat at? also was the 308 easy to program? and lastly did you have any issues going without s fan? Cheers
cool video...thanks! Quick question...will the device still work if you only use the cooling outlet? (i dont have a heating source)
It would still work yes, it would turn the cooling on and bring it down to the optimal temp you've set, then the cooling would switch off. Cheers for watching
Hi
I have an On/Off thermostat. Is it safe to use it?
the ink bird dont broke the fridge?
How long did it take for your fridge to settle to a temperature around 19? I have mine set to 19 with the HD and CD set to 0.5, but I'm finding it never balances out
just a few hours usually. Maybe turn the fridge to max (1 being low, 6 being max, on my fridge)
@@RustyHomebrew appreciate that, thanks. What setting did you have your heater on (I have the same), mine is currently set to about medium?
@@Luke-es8gg there's no settings on my heater, just on or off.
Hey Rusty, how come you never respond to old comments?
I'll try to make more effort
What's standing there behind the heater ?
There's two blocks of timber to hold the glass in place, I was supposed to make a wooden shelf, but this has done the trick for some many months now
