i wish i could personally thank her for writing this song. when this album came out, i was in the throes of the darkest period of my life - truly lost and spiritually broken down - hanging on for dear life as psychosis took hold of me - complete reckless abandon. i don't remember the first time i heard volcano, but i do remember the period that followed, where it was like a drug i kept coming back to for comfort and release. it somehow articulated the loss of control i felt in the form of a lullaby... this song in particular is so rare and special. it will forever leave me in awe. she is a genius, to say the least
