  • Hello. In this video, I am driving to Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture from Tokyo by rental car. The drive is approximately 3-4 hours in total by toll roads, and the scenery along the way is beautiful too. Kusatsu Onsen has been consistently ranked as the number one onsen town in Japan. Between Kusatsu Onsen and Tokyo is Karuizawa, famous for a huge outlet mall that is a perfect stop after a refreshing soak. Let's explore the peaceful and gorgeous little town!

Also, I'd like to make a suggestion: the subtitles are too fast, I'm a speed reader and can't barely follow... So I'd like to suggest you let them on-screen for more time!!! Just a suggestion, your video was amazing!! 😍

Great video! Which month did you go and, do you recall how much tolls were for driving? We are considering driving from Tokyo as well.

Hello! I believe it was nearing the end of September when I went. For tolls, if you have an ETC card, it costs ¥4370 for one way from Shinjuku to Kusatsu. You can typically rent an ETC card from the car rental company. Thank you for watching, and I hope you have an amazing trip!
