Much time was lost because the two competing tribes disrespected the other, attempting to assert their superiority or virtuosity, ignorant and dismissive of the rich heritage to be found in each culture. We as a nation have not progressed much. This cancerous mentality has been on full display for the last six years and the world has been watching our precipitous decline, divisions and example. We have to do much better before it's too late.
