@@YorkiesBitsandBobs , so I think it is impossible to schedule. I mean; the sensor works always and to disable its communication to the hub (in order to prevent lights on/off during all the time), the sensor must disabled as well ???(manually)
@@aguelomultimedia Thanks for the comment aguelomultimedia, Yes you can schedule it to activate like you only want the lights to come on after say 7 PM
He meant the detection interval. That's minimum at 4 seconds. And indeed logged. (have to refresh the app to see that) Sensitivity is low/normal/high. Really would like to see somet5in between. Normal isn't sensitive and high detects pets (cats) If you are creative you can setup a nicely working system. Took a while to do all the programming with a bunch of options and automatic controll.
@@YorkiesBitsandBobs Yeah, I bought another one and it works great, and I tested the battery in the dud and the battery shows 3V so yeah the sensor was broke. I love how I can now automate my bathroom lights
I have a specific need, at night our cat comes to the window to get in. Has anyone tried to see if the motion sensor (pleaced 4 inches from the window) will pick up the motion or does glass cause an issue? Sounds daft but if it worked it would stop poor puddy sitting there for hours at the window.
@@YorkiesBitsandBobs I should take delivery of the sensor and hub tomorrow, have a few medical appointment but as soon as I try it I will post my findings. Your video is a big help.
@@YorkiesBitsandBobs Thank you sir for your quick response! I bought other brand one which commits 10meter(32 feet). But it detects and notifies on my mobile only person comes near like 10 "feet". So only asked and I hope you self tested that it has promising 7 meter max. which is highly enough
PIR is motion detection. You just can set it up, to switch a light (tapo bulb/or tapo switch) when being activated. And making exceptions for not doing that during a set time. Like daytime. Dawn dusk sensor is different but just program it to switch at sunset. It's about the same. The tp link server does the calculations for you then.
Can you connect the sensor to the Tapo plug to make a lamp go off and on or does it have to be a Tapo bulb?
Yes, because all you need to do is tell the plug to turn on or off
Thank you
How many seconds it will refresh after a trigger?
That's the 60 second he set.
Lowest is every 4 seconds.
Led doesn't always blink then. Looks like there's a bigger interval needed for that one.
For turning lights on, can this be set to only happen when its dark or is it during a scheduled window of time?
Hi Paul you have to set it to come on at a set time
@@YorkiesBitsandBobs Thanks for the information!

You can set by time or sunrise/sunset to activate in smart settings.
Can you switch off/on sensor notifications with a predifined set times via app?
As far as I understand no, you can turn notifications on or off but you can't do it on a timer
Yes.
Turn notifications for the device itself off.
But program it in smart settings.
They overrule.
What is the lowest detection interval, 4 seconds?
Thanks for the question Jono, but it does not say, all it says is Low Normal and High, with low settings it will trigger fewer times
The lowest is in fact seconds which for me is way to log in between two detections
@@markusortlieb8581 Thanks for the info Markus, hopefully they will update the software to give more control

Can we connect tapo smart motion sensor with tapo smart strip light(L920), so that if it detects any movement then it turn on the strip light.
Yes Shashi I believe you can
@@YorkiesBitsandBobs thanks for the information 👍
Did you find the battery come dead? I got the sensor but it does not detect anything unless I touch the sensor on even high sensitivity
The battery is fine, sounds like you have a dude, you should contact the seller for a replacement

I don't think so

Yes it works 24/7

Tried it at about 1 meter.
Not sure if it's really near.

Up to 7 meters
