- An off-duty NYPD cop was among four people killed when a vehicle crashed into a nail salon on Long Island, officials said Saturday.
Police Officer Emilia Rennhack, 30, was getting her nails done at the salon for an upcoming wedding when an allegedly drunken driver crashed his minivan into the shop on Grand Boulevard in Deer Park on Friday, the sources said.
The officer worked in Queens 102 Pct., where her husband is a detective, police sources said.

For Decades, Business Owners have refused to put up barriers to separate store fronts from car accidents and people parking and stepping on the gas instead of brake, which was a trend for a decade. All you have to do is put four Concrete Posts in front of every store front and even the door far enough back on the sidewalk close to parking lot to protect people. But Incompetent Village Leaders say that takes away from the aesthetics of beautiful store fronts.
IT DOES. You're ignoring the actual problem. We have existed as a nation with automobiles for over a hundred years. We use to have a mostly intelligent, hard working population. Notice they didn't show the picture of the driver? I wonder why

Why would you say that? Getting your nails done is to make you feel pretty. Its not vanity its just something some ppl like to do for themselves. Im a tomboy but every once in awhile i like to get my nails done as well. They make me look all girly. And im not vain.
