This is part of Chilean culture because Rapa Nui (Easter Island) is part of Chile. Unfortunately many many people have no idea about this and assume that Chile is only a Hispanic latino country and criticize without knowing.

The chilean people and polynesians go back a long way in history. Unfortunately alot of the natives from South America and Polynesia dnt know about this history because they did not teach it in schools. History is vital because polynesians will disagree to this video. Rapanui has a past just like the rest of polynesia and it was slavery in south america. but the past is the past. Nice video.

Pacific Islanders are considered to be the best Navigators in the world. THAT statement is so true. There are many similarities between the People of Polynesian decent. I look at it this way. My wife is from Hawaii. BIG island. They are the Natives there and deserve the same respect for settling it as the first peoples there. As my Native Heritage allows me on the Mainland here in CALI. Ahora si nos vamos a la realidad, si está señora/señorita le dice eso mismo a una persona Rapa Nui la respuesta será contundente y quedará como idiota, ya que ellos no se sienten chilenos en lo absoluto.
