This video was referred to by Alex and I already am a big fan of you
I'm crazy with this type of content and I'm glad I found your channel. keep it up
lol I love the Northridge fix reference @8:00. Keep up the great work ^^
Great video, I'm just starting to learn about the microsoldering world and all of the explanations for why you do something really help, like why you want to use a combination of lead-free and leaded.
We all need a big boss in our labs... Came here because of Alex's channel... Keep up the good work... Nice video also on the Autel Elite charging issue... Thankyou
Great video Sir. You have new subscriber, was send over by Alex!!! Salute from Mexico 👍
Super helpful video, thanks Chase! I'm about to attempt this repair myself for the first time and I've watched a few videos along with this one. I see some technicians applying the hot air from on top of the connector and some from the bottom like in your vid. Would love to here why you prefer to apply heat from the bottom versus the other side? I also love that you provide the viewer with the temperature settings you're using while working, the details are so incredibly helpful!
So glad you liked the video! The reason in specific is because it protects some of the more sensitive components on the top side and specific the battery connector. You definitely want to consider it when applying that extreme heat
I'm your new subscriber because of Alex👍🏻❤ great job 💕
Hahah...bigboss joke. Alex from northridgefix saw it too. Great idea...you have a new follower. I like your videos
nice video, New to your channel. Plan to stay, keep up the good work!
Came from Northridge fix. Well done... But it is true. Since i started watching Northridge fix i understand that having someone who assembly and disassemble things is what let alex fix that amount of devices. I lose like 80% of my time in that
Hello , sir yea we all need a big boss in our life ! I have been doing repairs 9 years now and still can’t find my big boss I tried my wife ! But she was to bossy and had to get rid of her ! Lol she’s still around but only does small job like batteries replacement or screens ! She’s still on the learning side on the Multimeter ! Nice video sent over by Alex from northridge fix

I JUST GOT TO KNOW UR UA-cam BC OF ALEX FROM NorthridgeFix GOOD JOB THO
How about a tour of your tools and supplies with pros and cons and would you buy it again or replace it with something else?
Hey chase, I love your videos. What flux do you use in these repairs?
Thanks for checking them out! I use Amtech 559v2
You can find it at Northridgefix.com
Northridge Fix mentioned you that's how I got here
hello my friend, thank you for the video, great work!! Do you use 350 to install the new port also? Im worried about melting another port lol. Thanks in advance
I would recommend 400c max air, but keep the hot air always moving, never in one place, as soon as the solder liquifies then your good!
What liquid do you pour on the board when you clean with the Q tip in the beginning??
91% isopropyl alcohol.
What’s the stuff called that helps you take up the old port?
Amtech 559v2 flux
You can find it on
Northridgefix.com
If you only had an Uncle named Big Boss. Haha
I applied soldering flux paste, and started heating it at 350 c and the solder just doesn't melt. What am I doing wrong?
Use as high as 410c, just when the solder does liquify do your best to remove the port quickly.
Hi Chase, I am a beginner in terms of hardware repairs, I bought liquid damaged Nintendo Switch with screen not turning on, I noticed that if you shine a bright light on the display, you can actually see the image, so I checked the backlight ribbon, and it was damaged, I was able to repair it, and now it works fine, but I have some serious problems with WiFi not working 95% of the time, it sometimes work after leaving console turned off for a day or two, and with bluetooth connection to joycons (not working 100% of the time).
I am pretty sure it was working when I received switch, because I have tested the switch in docking mode, now everything works fine besides that WiFi and bluetooth connection to joycons or headphones (I checked antennas, and even checked known working ones, but it's not working) May I ask you for your suggestion? What could be wrong here?
Thanks in advance!
/G
Reball Wifi IC and see what happens.
If still nothing, replace it.
@@chasefournier so you think BT and WiFi problems together, can come from WiFi IC? I actually didn't know that this chip is somehow managing BT connections! :) Thanks! will try that!
@@Gzyniu I'm pretty certain it does. I could be wrong.
Nice 😊😊
Can i also remove the port with 200 degrees? My heat gun only can reach 200 degrees
400C right now is the most comfortable temp.
I'd suggest getting yourself a hot air station that can handle atleast 400C
I tried this but the plastic inside the USBC Port melted. I used 450F. What temperature should you recommend?
400C
What do you use to clean the board
91% IPA and tooth brushes.
Great job
by the way do your father have a UA-cam channel ?
Unfortunately he doesn't right now.
yea everybody needs a big boss indeed
Hi was wondering how much does it cost for a job like this
Absolutely! You can start a repair at cfmicrorepairs.info
Mine is like that too 😢
I just watch your video in Alex Chanel
