    Did my first motocamping last weekend inspired by you. 933 miles, 4 days, 3 nights in 3 places, 12 hours of hard trails and loved it! Keep up the good work.

    My xr is flat black with military shoulder bags for saddle bags and I have a luggage rack. I needed a lowering link as well. I run k60 tires, they work ok on the road and almost good in the dirt. Ride safe my friend best wishes from North west Ohio

    This is stupid. But I want to say that this was 36 and a half minutes of my life well spent. I miss these videos and I finally left a like because it's cool to just sit back and chill and pretend that you're hanging out with a friend. No product reviews, no sponsor bs, no like and subscribe, no anything. Just chill, hangout session with a random person with the same interests as you. You'll probably never see this FTB but these videos were a big part of me beginning to ride. Hope all is well with you and thanks for the memories/inspiration

    Glad to see you finally picked up some Ti-Tongs! I use 3 fingers on mine. Thumb on top, index in between the spoon and fork, and middle finger below. Helps me control my "pinch" and they don't start twisting sideways on me. Another great video, your B-Roll is top notch!!

  • @bonnevilleponds

    Spot on about earning that couch time, nothing better than getting out all weekend wearing yourself out then just sitting down for a few hours. Some great cooking ideas there as well. Wild Turkey is like $50 here in Aus, nothings cheap here. I gotta go camping again really soon. Good stuff as always mate!

    I love my beer I do drink whiskey from time to time but not a lot . My wife said she doesn’t like me drinking whisky because I fall asleep . 😃 I ride a Vstrom ‘ now it’s a heavy bike and do pretty much the same as you and enjoy it. In the winter I camp when it’s -40f we snow shoe in & out. It’s great to hear the Timber wolfs at night especially if their close. It makes the hair stand up on your neck it’s a rush . I don’t drink alcohol in the winter because it dehydrates you quickly. Winter camping is busy busy all the time. You don’t sit around much and snow shoes and x country skiing are a real workout. 🇨🇦 Nice video cheers ride safe.

    I can really relate to both your description of your relationship with your bike and your preference for solo riding. I'm in WI and ride a KLR 650. I'm hoping to get out and do some camping this summer but usually just ride woods trails. I love being way out there on a bike.

    • @FridaysTheBomb

      Where can you do moto camping at in Wisconsin? Is there public land up there where this sort of thing is possible?

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions 5 років тому

      @@FridaysTheBomb yes definitely, in the northern counties (about an hour from me) I'm fairly certain you can set up camp anywhere on the county land as long as your not blocking a trail. No permit or payment required. Ambition is required and so far that's been my issue haha. I'll just keep watching you and maybe that'll change.

    Great video. I'm rather new to your channel, and I really like your format. Keep it up! I leave soon for a 5 night motorcycle camping trip with a buddy into the N, Georgia mountains. One location for one night, and four nights at a second location. I do not ride to far off road since I have a Kawasaki Concours 14, but there is nothing compared to getting lost in your thoughts while on the bike and camping and distancing yourself from the routines of daily life.

    Can't wait to get out there. Been motocamping cross country for years on my Harleys.
    Just got my 1290 Adventure R and ordered some Mosco Moto luggage, etc. Still not sure where my first backcountry camping trip will be.
    All these bikes are tall for clearance. I can barely flat foot mine and I'm over 6'4.
    You got the right idea.

      And I also have a Honda XR 650l 2018. I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains kinda near Yosemite. It’s the perfect bike for this area. I can smash on the highways and go straight out onto the trails. My girl and I did a trip off Hwy 108 recently. A bit big and heavy for single track stuff, especially going two top. I usually bring my Smith and Wesson model 686, 7 shot 357 revolver. Figure it’s enough for what ever we have in Northern Ca.

    Digging your vids. Question: with doing your food prep, cooking and eating at your tent, dies that not bring the critters to your door? Up here on the west coast of Canada we’re taught to have a sleeping site and a cooking/eating site when wild camping to keep the bears from coming and snuggling up with us while we sleep.

    • @FridaysTheBomb
      @FridaysTheBomb  5 років тому +1

      I've never had a problem with animals coming around. I put all the scraps in a bag, tie it tight, and roll it up into the dry bag on the motorcycle. I think it masks the scent of the food. I've also hung the bag away from the tent before.

    Yeah, it interests me how your videos are always solo. Cool you joked about that. You don't make friends haha. Own that. I'm glad you've focused on what's popular (the camping videos)but also it's something you want to do. I know motorcycle review videos are popular online. I myself don't want to do that solely on my channel. Ironically, I probably found your channel through your 650l review vid.

      The camping videos are what people really want to see... and I know they are my best work, so I figure I might as well stick to them. The schedule of filming once a month is a lot easier to handle as well..

    I really love the idea of bringing a pistol when camping in an isolated area....better to have it and not need it. right? :)

      Yeah, I see it as a tool. I'll probably never need it, but I'd rather have it than not.

    I randomly found your video and quickly subbed. I hope to live in Utah in a year or so and do the same thing on my Yamaha.

      @@FridaysTheBomb I'm pretty short so I have a TTR125 that I got street legal. I may move up to a Honda 140 or something similar though.
