Wow, even back then they endured a lot. I read through the comments that all the members had the flu during this time and they still carried on with the show! Even Steve had the flu during the making of the Pyromania music videos! That shows how amazing and determined Def Leppard is to endure every obstacle they face, which is why they are my new favorite band of all time!
This song started it out for me. I heard this and I was hooked. As a teenager Def Leppard posters were all over my walls in my bedroom. When I heard the rest of the High and Dry album it was like this is my band until hysteria soured me. I know they did it for the money but lost a lot doing that. Still a fan of Pyromania and everything before it. High and Dry is the best by far. At least we all got that much.
I honestly think it wasn't bad. He was having voice problems, every singer goes through it. Especially when you sing like Joe Elliot. This sounds the best out of all the songs from this one concert. Besides when he would sing "bringin"... It was fine in my opinion.
it's actually close to perfect. he's singing the higher harmonies for the chorus. reason why it sounds weird is because the main singer usually does the main harmony but in this case he doesn't
They didn't really know how to play this song live when they started playing it..Joe had to try to adapt to singing this track, and even from this you can see that instead of singing "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" he says "Bringin' On The Heartache". It was just a rough start for this track live...
Great raw video. The band had a couple clumsy queues and transitions, singer Joe Elliot wanders on and off key, but definitely throws some major air on to the mic. Overall, a lot sloppy. Which is why I think I love it so much, this is a band playing live without a net. This was before they got corporate and polished (read.. ruined). This was a legit hungry band once upon a time. Then success, then, agonizingly boring.
Thats Felix the strat his mom bought him. Felix was used on the recordings of many songs Too Late for Love, Bringing on the Heartbreak, Comin Under Fire, Hysteria just to name a few.
He sounded much better in 84 and 87. He looks too young, scared, and not ready for what he was being expected to do. His voice sounds tight like you get with strong fear.
