I wish BRS had the benefit of the production speed, as i feel they are falling behind the competition. Even glidr restocks more than them, and hopefully they update their products to be more competitive

I think I want a REP if for no other reason than any large bali collection wouldn't be complete without one. Same with the AB, kinda want one of each just to have in my collection. As for flipping, I suck but have fun learning and trying. So yeah, I'm that old guy with lots of knives and balisongs that can't flip worth a damn, but I'm helping to support the hobby and enjoy watching you younger people show me what's possible.
the key to making G10 not feel "chalky", is just to oil it, afaik a thinner oil will be better but any oil that you use for your pivots will probably also work
Yea i heard the same thing but I was lubing my g10 knives and they still felt chalky till I REALLY lubed them correctly with the right Lube and they feel so solid
Full Channel Spacers Ti FFF make the rep sound so good, it also add weight along the handle if you have an heavy blade. I found them to make the rep feel comfortable, less rough, more benefits than negative for me, especially on G10 liners.
Fff spacers need a tight ASF tune to sound good if you don't have a good tune they suck (speaking from experience)
the blade on the rep is the alt one, one nice thing about it imo is when closed the tip area is swapped so the bite looks like the safe. also they have a rep with the carbon fiber scales already on it, they did a drop of them about a month ago
How is that nice? Let’s say a beginner tries one or a beginner to live blades and he doesn’t know that’s how it is. What happens when he grabs it by the bite handle thinking it’s the safe handle?

That’s an alt blade, not a tanto, amazing flips man, very in depth review I love it
I like the channel spacers on the tanto version helps neutralize the balance, sawed the channel part off on the alt blade. It was very handle biased with the channel spacers on the alt.
The only thing I want from BRS these days is a Channel AB Infinity, maybe with ever so slightly less rounding than the normal Infinity. I would be all over that.
I get where you're coming from about Chabs but that slow flipping is exactly what I like about them. Personal preference, I'm always switching it up and I always appreciate that chill flipping experience when I come back to it. I also think stock Reps feel great. Yeah all of em are expensive, nothing new there.

Man I feel ya on alpha beats chunky boys. I have several, aswell as several reps. But good lord my modded Alpha Beast 1.0 is so much thinner and absolutely my favorite. Not to mention it’s fucking gorgeous!
Also the channel spacers are because someone might not like the feel of sandwich knives but they still want G10
Which unless you buy a naut you can't get that, so channel rep is the only live option. Alot of people really like g10 especially sweaty hand boiz

my opinion about the rep is pretty damn similar, I think its a bit heavy but god I love the balance of it so much.
Because once you get into the rep world it's just easier to call them a rep. Also I see your point on channel spacers I don't particularly agree but I don't know if I call it stupid. Hands down reps are for people who want to try every balance like modding And just want to have a balisong that is unique to them
Totally dig that REP. I jimp full channel spacers if they are slippery with a round file. But the balance you get feels smoother to me. And I don't love the sharp sandwhich inner angles. But I have no hand skillz and no one should listen to me.
I feel exactly the same about channel spacers. I love my rep but I got it off Reddit with this and took off the mod because it sucked and put stock spacers back on lol

Brs was always the gold standard, back in the 2018 era of flipping, the thin 3.0 was the best you could buy, anodizing was everywhere, then the bowie blade came out.
My infinity from 2017 has never been slow or clunky, the titanium is light and thin because of the roundness.
Between this and the alpha beast infinity
The infinity is on top, so fast and easy to roll
I bought a alt cf rep a few months ago and it's the only knife I flip these days.
Every time BRS does a cf rep drop I'm not in the position to buy one. Really want an alt bladed cf one eventually.

I wholeheartedly agree that channel spacers don't make much sense, definitely makes ladders harder on a sandwich rep and they dont need durability reinforcement.

I think the alt rep is the best looking balisong on the market. Totally different than a 42 but has that same old school vibe of "this is what a balisong should look like".
my rep on kuski is light and really fast, faster than nami and anything i tried, also rep is probably one of less troublesome bali
BRS needs to get with modern flipping. The super sharp edges must go. The Tibones I recently had was super uncomfortable to fan. Looked great and flipped well, but it's very 2010 as far as comfort goes.
Im ngl i hate the chab design and the price but i traded a seigaiha for it
Seigaiha tv is 500 and the hammer chab is 700
And for the rep its a project balisong
Gonna regrind it and retip it etc etc

I'm extremely resistant to *stock* BRS knives. Modded ones are a whole different ballgame, particularly the Rep.

@@mattwuzhere8634 that's in the eye of the beholder, plus it's pretty easy to get a badly tuned Rep because BRS' QC has dropped off in recent years. If you have to hand tune it to fix the tuning, you may as well go full custom and get something that fits your flipping preferences. I've built plenty of Reps that put stock Reps to shame.

I've owned like 9 reps at this point ... Tried pretty much every config possible, live, trainer, reblade, ti rehandles, barrels, g10 spacers, channel spacers... And I always go back to my stock tanto rep

People turn sandwich to channel so that the edges don't dig into your fingers. If it didn't have its benefits, people wouldn't do it 🤷♂️

And on the note of brs in general, the alubb is so slept on, would be better than a kraken if it had jimping but nobody wants to admit it 😂

Modded reps honestly arent even reps. Theyre a whole different knife. Same with kraken rehandles. Like why? What is the point? Unless you want to do a custom knife...but you could just do that with a rep clone and do it cheaper. Or just buy the parts over time and make it. You can now build a replicant cheaper than buying a stock one. Make it make sense
