I love it when Stephen's love for his guests makes its way on the screen. You can tell he enjoys having her on and that he likes her as a person. He lights up in a very special way. Just makes you love him even more. 😎
I loved the show Jack & Jill that introduced me to Amanda Peet, Sarah Paulson, and others that I still enjoy seeing in things because it makes me think of that show. So glad to see Amanda with a show that sounds fantastic. She is funny and delightful and hopefully we see more from her.
Amanda Peet and Sarah Paulson in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip were just 😘👌😘👌😘👌😘👌😘👌😘👌 together!! As were Bradley Whitford and Matthew Perry. I'm still so mad they cancelled it after the first season!!
I just watched the Chair and it was such a fun unique show setup in university giving voice to young, middle and the old. can't wait for season 2 and hoping for longer episodes. Also she was phenomenal in Dirty John 2: the Betty Broderick story. should have gotten the Emmy nomination for it.
She was one of David Letterman's favorite guests back in the day...he adored her! I wouldn't be surprised if he was watching this interview with a big, wish-I-was-Stephen-right-now smile on his face. 🧡
Jack & Jill is all I have to say! Her and Sarah Paulson will always be in that show in my mind! I love their lifetime friendship! I love her personality!
Lovely she is! Watched her perform live ages ago - 'Barefoot in the Park' on Broadway. And she was sensational as Betty Broderick in 'Dirty John' last year. I was expecting at least some nominations for her performance.
Shout out to the comments. I thought I would've been alone in my love for Amanda but no, pleasantly surprised! She's fantastic! The show looks hilarious! Also, cast her as Allison Williams' sister from now on.
Thank you for talking about impostor syndrome!! I'm so glad when I hear I'm not alone from such talented people. Looking forward to watching The Chair!!
No she looks like she is 50. 50 is not decrepit. She has looked after her self has used good skin care and eaten good food. Lots of 50 year olds look like this.
@New Message - That's one thing that a lot of creative people tend to do, immediately point out the flaws and mistakes in their work, whereas most people probably wouldn't notice them.
@@richwojehowski1123 True. Creative people have greater awareness of the fine details of what they are trying to achieve. Being self critical is vital for creative people. My favourite thing about interviews with Amanda Peet is how authentically she laughs. Super warm and genuine, if you haven't seen it go check her out on Seth Myers show as well, she's a riot, she throws her head back and forth laughing with her whole self every time, it's the best. Great show, couldn't be happier for her!
Colbert is *such* a charming interviewer. Makes everyone welcome and look and sound terrific. Even some guests I didn't think I was interested in hearing from. (This is not a dig at Amanda Peet, just a general statement.)

When she said, “I drink,” I fully expected Stephen to reach under the desk and pull out the bourbon.
Totally. :)

I knew I'd find someone making this comment! Can't agree more! Studio 60 was amazing, and she was incredible as Jordan McDeere!
I just finished Dirty John: Betty Broderick and she was stellar in that. She's amazing!
Sarah Paulson is a queen!
Super charming & modest. Can’t wait to check out Sandra Oh in The Chair!

I didn't think about the fact that it creates stars out of all age groups but it does and that is remarkable
"The Chair" is soooo good. I was waiting for a new series I could get excited about and it's here!
Steve: How do you handke it?
Amanda: "I drink".
Plain and straight and had me laughing out loud! Awesome.
She's looked exactly the same for the last 20 years.
Right!? I wish I still looked that good, but alas, medical care in the US is awful, unless you're wealthy.

Wow, I just love her. Thanks for having her on the show.
She's gorgeous. I've had a crush on her since Saving Silverman.
Amanda says “...and you have such a GREAT staff!” to Stephen before breaking. Love it.
The real creative people always think their creations suck. They are always striving for perfection!😁
Really? So I don't suck? But if I don't think I do anymore, does that mean I was right the first time?
Amazing I saw her 20 years ago in that movie saving Silverman and she looks exactly the same what a knockout!
