There’s no need for him to even attempt to break it if no one is pushing him or challenging him. There’s no more Eddie Hall or Brian. Not too many amazing dead lifters right now. Thor will win any dead lift competition easily. Just like Tom wins stones easily.

Someone could also pull a trey mitchell where they get a higher jump (say 460) and touch the bar without lifting it forcing thor to have to go 460. That could be an issue as well

Just saw the first day of ASC. I can tell his deadlift is no way near all of the other competitors' standard, it's just on a different higher level. Just to prove that his elephant bar peak in 2019 was the standard that people have to work for a long time to get there.

what you should look at after weigth lifted in training is : did the competitor improved on technique ? Are they heavier ? are they stronger ? to me technique is the major factor because non of those guys can put as much weigth in their body as thor

If its a rising bar system like last year, you could start at 950lbs and second 1010 and if nobody gets 950 then you wont even have to do the second
