Why do you think your cat kneads? 🐈
To display them beautifully fuzzy paws that hide delicate but dangerous claws. Toe beans just top it off. Lol
Showing love 😻
My cat thinks we are bread dough.
To get comfortable for sleep.
I say to relieve its knuckles like we humans crack ours. They get arthritis like we do.
They gotta keep their baking skills up to date, of course 😄
Creative caption xd
There a meowster baker 🧑🍳
Must be why they loaf as well ;)
Too funny
They knead because theyre happy, getting their sleeping area ready, and several othergreat things.
My cat seems to knead when relaxed and comfortable and when I'm petting and they're enjoying it. 🐾🐈
It's also called Milk Treading. Every cat I owned has done this periodically. I also call it Marching.
Ha, "marching," that's very fitting! 😺
I smiled through the whole video, nothing cuter than a happy cat! My cat will do that in his sleep sometimes while he makes the mouth nursing movements, I think he's dreaming of being a kitten again.
I didn't know they did it to mark their territory though, that one was a surprise.
I like to knead my cat lightly when I'm petting him, in the hopes he knows I understand when he does it to me. 🥰😻 He seems to like it because he starts purring even louder when I do it.
Awww that's adorable! You sound like such a good cat daddy. 🐈🐾
@@ThePurringJournal Thank you! I try my best, he's been my buddy for 15 years now 😸🐾🐾
I have to say I've never heard it called "smurgling" before! I've had a lot of cats and many of them loved kneading on blankets, pillows, me, their beds, each other, and just about anything they could find. Some of them actually "marched" more than "kneaded"!! But the 8 I have right now don't knead at all, at least I've never noticed any of them doing it! I don't know why. I've always found it to be very relaxing to have a cat lying on you, purring and kneading. I sort of miss that!!🐈
My cats often use their back paws as well ☺️.
Cats remembering their kittenhood to comfort themselves is the cutest thing I've ever heard! 😍❤️
Watching this as my cat is next to me kneading his favourite blanket
How cute! 😻
this is absolutely true: growing up I had a friend ask me what my cat was doing. I said, : "She's kneading bread.." He said " Well if she's needing bread, why don't you go to the store and get a loaf for her..." absolutely true.
My cat Tiger-J kneads me when he wants his cuddles.
I heard that purring is not only a way for cats to show comfort but also distress
I didn't have my headphones on while watching this and when the purring was at the beginning, my cat walked away from me
My cat will start crying which usually means he wants to do it. He nuzzles the fabric at the same time and sometimes he’ll move his back leg which I suppose he would have done in the litter to push a sibling away. He’s smaller than his brother which makes me think he got pushed to the rear by the others. I read somewhere that the nipples closer to the head have more milk?
I always thought they were massaging their human.
I Love this channel.
Hey ! This 🐱 channel deserves much more subscribers !
Cheers from LA
Wooooow my cat Batman just started making biscuits now he’s sleeping, Awwww❤❤
Love you very informative videos!!!! Never heard the name smurgling, love learning. Thank you for doing the homework here!!!
My male cat only kneads before trying to mate with my leg. Why wasn’t that on your list?
Im starting to think thats why my male cat is doing it? He tries to get his front paws higher up on something and kneads with all four paws and he gets pissed if we touch him or even look at him too long. He has started walking about with his little pillow and then putting it on a box and kneading it but will attack if you take it away, only thing that got his attention away from it was a female mating call video 😬😬
Was thinking it might be something to do with marking their territory?
Gotta keep kitty's making bread?!¿.
Love the loaf ♡ of breads they make..
Salutations from California 🐾
I just fixed my male and he is doing this to my fuzzy lil robe. He bites it, while kneadding.
My first cat Muffin did this frequently with me. She would knead, drool and purr. My family knew when I held Muffin. They would point out the claw marks and drool on my clothes.
My cat normally does this when I am sleeping and he decides I should be up...and feeding him.
Haha, sounds about right! 😹❤
Our 1 year old Devon Rex boy kneads on me immediately after I took a shower😂
None of my five have any reason to feel stress. They all knead on me. I'm happy they are happy. It means I am doing my job for them.
Please make a video about Nepetalactone!
My cat tooo with my hand, whenever I cover my body he ll come to me 😂😁
We have had a lot of cats in the past. But strangely only one very young cat that was only one or two years old and had been a feral cat for some time before becoming a domestic cat sometimes kneaded a cushion he was about to rest on.
I just got a new cat and she is super sweet and she is currently being held in a room so she doesn’t clash with my 10 devon rex, she is a german rex.
Congrats on your new fur baby! 😺❤
This channel is very under-rated :(
I observe this on my cat mainly to mark his territory and own it.
My cat doesn't knead. He purrs, headbutts, talks. makes love eyes and all that but in the four months since adopting him he has never kneaded. He's a bit over 2 yo.
With all those purrs and headbutts, he probably feels no NEED to KNEAD. 😹❤️
@@ThePurringJournal how come my cat doesnt head-but me anymore? She used to all the time as a kitten and while she still kneads me and cuddles with me its nothing like the head-buts anymore :/ im wondering why
Im usualy the one my male senior cat kneads one while purring with his eyes closed then he just naps on my lap
I stopped my cat bc he was making weird ass movements so I thought he was going to pee or poop
What if you want to make biscuits out of the cat? Seems that it is basically a habit. People touch their faces, pull their hair, bite their fingers or nails. Horses prance around and nob their heads, hogs like to massage themselves on objects and stretch their back legs.
Yes , he is very happy and showing you he loves you!😍🐾 If you stroke him while he kneads you then you care showing your cat you love him too and that he is safe.
Also yes if his eyes are half shut he is VERY loving and it's bliss for him to be in your company! ! 🐺🍥 Not all cats are this content with their owners so you are both very lucky!! 💙💖❤💜♥💛💚
My cat used to knead while purring and sniffing my clothes where my arms were ! As lovely as it was, I ended up having wet patches all over my arms, if I had to go out, I smelt of cat dribble! ! 😃
It drove my father mad so he kindly but firmly stopped my cat dribbling while kneading , but the kneading continued. As the video states it's instinctive and cats won't stop doing it. But my dad only wanted the dribbling to stop anyway, 💖
Besides kneading my Tuxedo boy will nurse on my neck at the same time . I call him Count Dracula when he does it . He’s ten yrs old now
Aww, how cute! ❤️
As a bread baker I know muffins are not kneaded but when our cats do this we say they're makin' muffins.
Do big cats do this? I’m genuinely curious.
My cat kneads the most when my husband and I get in the bed or we're on the couch sitting close together.. I just figured she is like, nope, you're not leaving me out hoomanz!!
My cat did this to my hand 😂
😆😆
Does your cat smurgle
As Carlin would say, this is quite the inflated list. Many of these repeat each other.
It's not a learned behavior, but an instant instinct.. .oh you got round to it; kneading as a hangover from weaning with Mummy Pussycat ❤️. Cool 🆒 and well done for another delightful pussycat video because you can never have too many pussycats ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❗ Prrrs prrrs prrrs prrrs prrrs 🥰❤️😘❤️❗
Please don't clip your pussycats' claws. It's almost never required... and if you have a problem with having your furniture used as a scratching-post ... well... what can one say... except that you probably mean well but that you just haven't reached the point where you dig that you have to accept little bits of destruction as the price one must be prepared to pay for the privilege of being owned by PUSSYCATS ❤️❤️❤️... and I love being a cat-slave. Try it, because it's great to be the property of pussycats! 🐈❤️🐈❤️🐈❤️❗🥰💓😘💓 Pussycat floofballs...ploofballs, perhaps? Or maybe Puffball... no, that's been taken by a mushroom, sadly...!
Furry purrry poofballs! ❤️🥴👍❤️❗
I have two cats and I trim the claws of one of them. She's a gradma, already 19 years old and her claws used to always get caught in fabric (sweaters, sheets, pillows etc.) where she couldn't retract them and would get stuck. That would always freak her out. So I clip her claws and I suppose that's one situation when that's a good thing :)
8/10 hate it when she does this, she does it for 6minutes straight so annoying
