Für mich eine der überzeugendsten Interpretationen dieses dramatischen Liedes; sowohl im Gesang als auch im Klavier sind die verschiedenen Stimmungen und die Protagonisten mit ihren Gefühlen großartig gespiegelt. Es ist erfreulich zu sehen, dass es noch Künstler:innen gibt, die in ruhiger, unaufgeregter Körperhaltung ein Lied mit musikalischen Mitteln eindringlich zu interpretieren wissen.

@@agreeshootina I have shared this performance enthusiastically with friends and they have liked it very much (about 6 responses). One very good friend said 'Perfection, and what a setting' . My feeling is that you have restored something genuine to this music. The text is Gothic, you don't overplay it and you don't understate it. This is a fine balance, not easily attained. You are taking out the preciousness that makes the art song uncomfortable for many, and your focus on the music and its drama is stirring. The accompaniment is intense and committed and the singing about as natural and clear-toned as anything I have heard. Quite lovely. I believe the world will take note.

That makes us feel part fo your music-making too, and we want to follow your progress (many of us live far away in South Africa). Presently we can only do that via UA-cam and Spotify, so we thank you again for uploading the performance. . A friend who is himself a professor of music of many years standing writes, this evening: 'it is indeed a remarkable achievement, both by Schubert and these artists. What a wonderful musicality she has!' Personally, I would only like to add that your and Ms Grishutina's emphasis on the piece, the wonderful, composition, shows what true musicians you both are. I hope you will be further exploring Schoenberg and will also consider Mendelssohn. I believe that you, Ms Valentin, have a voice very suited to the 'musicality' (to use my friend's word) of Mendelssohn, whose beautiful, uncontrived, lieder are unduly neglected..

Это был концерт лауреатов конкурса Шуберта в Дортмунде. В программе были Lieder Шуберта и Вольфа.
