    After you cut the driver side bolt to remove the stock leaf. You put it in the other way right? Did you end up cutting the bolt down so it doesnt touch the gas tank?

    If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything? Was the suspension upgrade worth it or wish you had gone bigger?

      Great question at the time and over the last two years it worked out great. Now after crossing 50k miles in the truck I had to make a decision. Rebuild shocks or upgrade? I'm about to slap on Icon 3.0s along with Krazy House Customs lower control arms and front bumps!

      @@TheWhalen moving up to 3.0 tells me everything. Just ordered KCH conversion buckets and picked up a set of 3.0 take-offs. 🤗

    Nice mod for sure. What roof rack is that, I’ve been looking for one just like that

      Moding the truck is so much fun. I start to go through withdraws if I don't have a mod to do.

    The SVC bumpstops didn’t require lifting the bed!? I heard RPGs require unbolting the bed a lifting a little to get the support bar through. Maybe I’ll go with SVC instead

    • @TheWhalen
      @TheWhalen  4 роки тому

      Nope, no bed lifting.

      The SVC install was actually one of the easiest parts of this job, and I was Very impressed by how well everything fit.

    You have any clunking with your deavers? Mine does i have +3

      Not anything dramatic some noise is expected of rough terrain.

    Hay, looking good on the Raptor. How is the ride and OFFROAD compared to factory system? How wide are these icon leaf springs, same width as the factory leaf springs?

    • @TheWhalen
      @TheWhalen  4 роки тому

      Dual questions...
      1. Watch the vlog starting at 7:10 I talk about how I like the changes and how it rides.
      2. The leaf springs are the same width, the upgrade gives you more of an arch with more leafs that comprise the spring for greater stiffness.

    I was thinking of doing the same setup on my raptor. Is it leveled or is the back higher than the front after you put the deavers and the geisers in the front?

    • @TheWhalen
      @TheWhalen  4 роки тому +1

      It's petty level when you do both maybe .25 inches higher in back on level 2 setting, very negligible and with a couple hundred lbs of gear in bed and you're not sagging!

    Nice setup! I’m planning to do the same setup except the leafs. Can I ask two questions if you can answer plz. Do you know how many lbs on your raptor bed include racks, roofs everything? Do you need the bump stop kit if you go with 3rd setting on icon springs to carry those weight? I can’t decide just right here. I will go with deaver +3HD. So just want to know”do I really need the bump stop kit?”. Thanks for sharing your precious experience. Hopefully can hear you back soon.

      Thanks for questions. Let's see if I can brake it down for you. For starters I have at least 150lbs in bed at all times with aux battery Retrax cover and built right bed racks that hold axe, shovel, hi-lift. In overland mode with kB voodoo rack on and tent as well as camp gear total bed load is usually between 500-600lbs give or take.
      As for leafs. Deaver +3HD should be a legit upgrade from stock. As for bump stops if you ever drive it hard in rough terrain they will save you from a bent frame. Also should you ever tow or have a really heavily load the SVC adjustable bump stops can reduce bed sag and help support that load better.
      Lastly I've never calculated the weight on my roof rack, but I would guess in the neighborhood of 100-150lbs I have recovery gear in cases.

      TheWhalen thank you so much blogger. I think I got it. I don’t drive aggressively. But I do use raptor to do some truck work. Towing and hauling. I think I’ll be fine with +3HD without bump stop kit. I always can put bump kit later. Thanks again all the answers. 🙏

      @@dongtianxia2002 From what I understand, the OEM or timbren bumps will be fine unless you are jumping or doing similar G outs. I wouldn't run no bumps or you'd risk damage. Do a bump stop kit if you are jumping or hitting higher speed big shots.

    Seems like 37's are the natural progression...

    • @TheWhalen
      @TheWhalen  4 роки тому

      Unfortunately the gen 2 raptors are built dialed in for 35s, putting 37's on requires a lot of extra work and money. Everything supporting them needs to beef up: control arms, brakes, axles. Not to mention a widebody kit to fit the wheels. Basically if you off-road it hard without doing all of that you're gonna break something.

    Hello. Thank you for the great content. I have similar set up as yours whit has racks, tonneau cover and Rooftop tent and large dometic fridge..not including all the camping kitchen and tables chairs and 4 two gallon rotopax and awning with stock leaf spring. My rear end has dropped about .75 inches. I know if I add all these my rear end would drop even more.. I decided to upgrade my stock leaf spring to ICON. Which setting should initially try? Thinking about starting with level 2? Which level did you end up doing on your ICON leafs? Also have you thought about ICON bump stop kit rather than SVC? Thank you and your content helps me tremendously!

    • @TheWhalen
      @TheWhalen  4 роки тому +1

      I'm set to lvl 2 and it works great. At the time I got a better price on the SVC bump stop vs Icon so went that route and the set up is working out great! Fully loaded with around 600lbs in bed it sits about 1" lower than without a load, that's still higher than factory! No more sag!

      @@TheWhalen Thank you so much and so ready to full trigger on ICON leaf! I think I am going to do level 2 as well. My will look very similar as yours except my RTT is little heavier and my bedrack is made out of steel... Thank you so much for your prompt reply and help!
