I never thought Kendrick was gonna lose. Drake has put out some good songs, but he doesn't do real hip hop. He's a simp at best, but he's never hid the manipulative, co-dependency that exists in his lyrics. I've never seen him as a tough guy. I've never seen him as a battler. His only battle quality is that he's petty.
This battle brought to my attention, and to many people's attention, the fact that he has had weird interactions with young girls. Those actions line up with how groomers act.
He has used his power, wealth, and status to manipulate young women into having sex with him. If he waited ever time until they were technically legal, he's still a creepy dude who the culture needed to deal with.
But at no point in time did I question whether or not Kendrick had him in check, with a clear path to victory.
Kendrick has a mind and a pen, humility and clarity, love and venom.
Drake is a creation who never developed any depth of character. We all know that for a fact, now.
But whatever people thought, it was dumb to think Kendrick wasn't a killer on the mic.

This is how I viewed the beef, from the start. I am a bit of a Kendrick fan, but don't really listen to his music all that much, so not really. But I know he's good at what he does. I am a Drake hater. I have known for a long time he was a shady individual and a plant. And he isn't very good at what he does imo, since he seems to need help from everyone else. So...
I figured Kendrick to have the clear advantage over Drake strictly on skill alone, no bias. And Drake was the underdog as people, incl myself, wanted him to fail. Not to mention him trying to claim the hip hop genre to himself and the harm it caused the genre. Of course I'm not stupid, as there were so many that were in social media it seemed, which was Drake's playground, so I assumed he had a favor within the court of public jesters. I did think there would be a LOT of gaslighting on Drake's side because of this.
I would love to see that clip too. I know Drake was worried, people might not have thought so, but go back and watch his old interview about the control verse. He [felt he] HAD to say something to gain control over the convo. He prob never thought K-Dot would take it there. But he looked like a middle-schooler that got his feelers clipped.
I find it odd but this is what it looked like from my PoV... Drake was like that "Prep Kid" in the movie that wanted to be (wannabe) the cool guy. Someone else (his label and others) introduced him to the right people, they vouched for him (either selflessly or paid to) and the one thing that stands out the most, is he was that "Private School""Prep Kid" but people knew he was. And the soft societal acceptance that has festered in society lately made it a norm and "OK"... when that wasn't the basis of the hip hop culture until now, because of him. I could be totally wrong and reading way in between the lines. But that's what I see.

I just wish people would stop putting Drake as a great rapper. Once it’s known that you have a ghost writer, that’s it! No one gave puff a pass and anyone else, so drake doesn’t get one either

They already gave Drake a pass. Remember, this revelation is what kicked the Meek Mill v Drake beef off. When no one spoke on that, I knew hip hop was cooked. Drake should have been sidelined THEN but it was cool cause at the end of the day, it was money to be made with Drake. Kendrick calling everything out strained his rap relationships but it was long overdue. I still think the silence of the party’s mentioned on the last verse on NLU is so fuckin loud! Low key, they caught a stray on that song. Kdot cleaned it up with “real nigga challenge “but the truth needed to be spoken.

I don't understand how AK can say that he didn't think Dot had the demeanor when he went at the whole industry from the start and always stood on business in every freestyle, like in the BET cypher. He sparked this beef. He baited both Cole and Drake and pushed the red button since Euphoria. AK was just blinded by the flash of what he thinks Drake represents. He lost by association.

Ak definitely never listened to Kendrick even though he claims he has. If Kendrick can diss himself as bad as he did in U, he can definitely diss Drake horribly

Jesus. AK for SURES thought Drake was the favorite right up until Euphoria.😂🤷🏻‍♂️ Been a Kendrick fan since 2011. All I could think was “…..does drizzles not know Kdot is a murderously talented battle rapper? Has he not seen those BET cyphers?” Thank god tho. Seeing warrior mode Kendrick was a treat.

Even the part where ak says he didn't know kdot was like that, that he would say something and not reply. A simple listen to the heart 4, will show that all kendrick wanted was for them to say his name. Basically if u want this smoke, just say name. But all drake did was continue the subliminals. Kdot didn't want to go at drake without him saying his name because, if he did, drake fans would think he was doing it for attention cus drake was the more popular/mainstream artist.
