Fun fact, this SCP was written by Max Landis, the same person that wrote the screenplays for Chronicle (2012), Bright (2017) and many more films.
Something tons of people don’t realise yeah. It’s one of the reasons why I love this SCP as Chronicle is by far the best written superhero film ever made. It really shows in the level of writing the similarities in both.

The "prepare" was also a reference to the Gate Guardian. So it is somewhat establishing an independent canon where the thing the Gate Guardian to told them to prepare for was the Scarlet King.

How did I never pick this up till now?!
I understand the reference to the Scarlet King but as I relisten to the interview sequence I vaguely find it familiar with Pangloss. In the SCP universe he is a benevolent god created at the very beginning of time who wandered the world seeking to aid all who lived there, mostly by bringing out the beauty of reality. He is known to be helping humanity whenever he can. Now I’m wondering if Tupac was more than just a spirit of justice in this SCP, perhaps he was always something more…
It was and I believe he’s meant to represent Pangloss in some way, like an aspect of him or an avatar. Nonetheless, Tupac is very much an old god.

It's also interesting that he ends with "Prepare", mirroring the Gate Guardian. It seems he's aligned with or is the same force that seemingly prompted the formation of the foundation.

Reminds me of the functional difference between scp lore and backrooms lore; the former is carefully curated, the latter isnt.
The prepare comment at the end refers to Scp-001and the Gate Guardian and what it told the Scp foundations founder to do.
After watching this I just realized that Tupac might be pangloss in a human form.
Fyi, pangloss is a God in the scp universe. Pangloss is the Scarlet King's counter. Pangloss and his creations have been fighting the Scarlet King's creations since the beginning.
Been requesting this one for ages. Glad you’ve finally got round to reacting to it. Yeah, it’s a huge twist at the end and it puts everything into perspective. Tupac was and still is alive, but not in the traditional sense. He’s an old god, same as Scarlet King and The Deer. One of the warriors who fought against him during the age of creation in the SCP lore. Love how it ties it together through music. As they say, music tells a story all on its own.
This is honestly my favorite SCP of all time.

I think alongside the part where he is fighting the Scarlet King, I think another thing that makes that ending to the SCP so great, is that it pretty much outright says that the conspiracy theory about Tupac not being dead is true in the SCP universe. He is not even a ghost, rather one of the bigger implications in that ending is that Tupac was never human in the first place. He just created the human identity of Tupac to take a break and is actually pretty much a benevolent eldritch abomination.
I personally like it when an eldritch abomination is an eldritch abomination, but rather than being an uncaring, unfeeling monstrosity... Is instead explicitly on the side of humanity, regardless of how incomprehensible its true nature is to the human mind.
Probably not the only SCP like that either. I think i have seen one or two other beings in the SCP universe that are also a good equivalent to your more standard eldritch horror.

Are you familiar with comp scp scaleing there are so many characters and things in that verse that can solo infinite boundless+ characters the scaling is ridiculous and illogical just like the steven king books if not higher even some of the basic Elder gods are Beyond metaphysics pataphysics and they are nothing compared to the top tiers of the verse like less than Fiction and even they can solo 99% of fiction no diff and Tupac can fight the scarlet king which is like maybe top 3 in the verse
@@error-4269 I do scale yes. I'm familiar with pataphysics, metaphysics and all sorts of conceptual aspects within fiction. But Tupac isn't the strongest in the SCP, or even in the top ten. Nor is the Scarlet King as there are several entities in the lore that far surpasses him in power. Brothers Death, He Who Is Light/Darkness, The Almighty etc. Nevertheless I agree with you in how many of the bigger mainstream fictions out there would get annihilated by SCP as it is very much in the same vein as Steven King, Lovecraft, Hellraiser ect.

@@error-4269 No they do surpass him. In at least three tales it talks about how he is scared of them and their intervention should they get in his way. That and he's literally born from them. But at the end of it all, it's all interpretive and subjective.
