Party, I think you should be aiming to have a monopoly on English rum. And I think to supply the rum that the area needs, you'll need to establish distilleries in other locations too. Trinidad will be very useful. As you mentioned, it produces wood while Port Royale produces sugar. I think you should establish a woodcutting business there, build a warehouse, and establish a distillery of your own. Try to run your competitor out of business. If you run wood and sugar between your warehouses in those locations, you'd be able to produce rum at a much lower cost than your competitors, which should make it easy to finish them off. Isabella is at a weird spot when it comes to rum. They produce neither sugar nor wood, and while they can get sugar pretty easily from Santa Dominigo, I think it's difficult for them to procure wood, meaning it's not the best idea to set up a distillery there. I think you should buy Isabella's distillery(ies) and demolish them. Edit: Just noticed that Tortuga produces wood, so that's likely where they're getting it from. Eh, you could handle it either way then. Additionally, I noticed that Barbados actually produces both sugar and wood! I think it would be in your best interests to get a building license for that as soon as possible and establish sugar plantations, woodcutters, and distilleries asap. It's a great location to help you gain control over the English territories to the south, and that's necessary as you don't have much influence in those waters at the moment.
Maybe its time for a Warehouse ? Think one more ship should do! so we have 3 for auto trade And last One that you just play around with. To Do Quests and that and if we see something that sell big and stuff like that. So it will be 4 ships And we should have other trade routes in stored. Rdy to be put to use. If war comes to close to the other trade routes Build up the City More. To make more money ^^
I'm loving this miniseries! I would love to see a full series! I think I'm going to pick the game up on switch when it comes out, you've got me hooked!
man this series is getting good! I'm having so much fun watching and it seems like your having fun playing so plz keep it going! I think you should focus on getting the wood to Port Royal to help boost your rum and maybe try to force out the sugar plants in Isabella maybe?
I feel with the Trinidad Rum Distillery its actually best to buy and demolish it because of a couple of reasons. For one, your still very early game, so it might be hard to manage multiple cities. And the other is that Trinidad does not have its own sugar plantations, meaning you will have to keep delivering sugar to it to make rum. The only way around that issue is to build new ones, but with purchasing the distillery that will be a ton of money which you can use to upgrade Port Royale. Also another suggestion if this it how it works, you should build a warehouse because im guessing you will have to keep paying money to sell off your own sugar and soon enough rum without it. this is an early comment, so I might edit it to change a few things I said. Schooner is pronounced "Skoo-nr" I know it's not realistic/historical, but I think it'd be funny to name the ships after members and patrons. And if you do that could you call the Frigate the "S.S.SomethingElse" or something similar to that.
Trinidad produces wood, so alternatively Party could establish his own distillery in Trinidad, running wood to Port Royale and sugar back. If he establishes a warehouse there I think he can give sugar to his potential rum business in Trinidad for free, and by establishing a wood cutting business there, he could do the same for wood in Port Royale. It might make for a great rum production route
Keep an eye for 50% on ships, buy the most expensive one for 35k and resell it right away for 4x that. Quick buck and the. Add more trading ship to the same route. Just need enough cash to buy inventory
Party what I did in start is to have schoochers and made automatic trade routes depending demand of all towns and it makes huge profit... As high as millions... Keep one route running in all English town loop and assign many ships to it with same configuration...
There's no sugar on Trinidad, so I think the distillery is a weird industry to have on that island. That said, your work is great, as always, very immersive.
Every time the ships leaves port royal, it still has tools in it, try to sell them at Necocli ? Could push up the profits and make room. You couls actually do that too with the luxury goods. But youll have to recheck the price-settings on those. Semms like you dont really buy any.
Some historical factlets: 'William of Orange' is the anglicization of his Dutch name, Willem van Oranje. Orange is thus usually pronounced in as the colour. It does refer to his title as Prince of Orange, which was a French title. Oranje is pronounced something as 'Oh-Ran-Juh'. His title of Stadtholder is another anglicized name, the original being 'Stadhouder'. Regarding the Gregorian calendar, most non-catholic countries adopted this more accurate calendar late, feating a Catholic plot. Most of the protestant nations did adopt the more accurate Gregorian calendar in the 18th century. Orthodox nations, like Russia, followed as late as the early 20th century. And the difference in calendars did lead to problems for the Russians. In 1908 the Russian Olympic shooting team did miss the games by days because of this.
Party, your military ships have no crew! That's a recipe for disaster. You need to pick up sailors from Santa Domingo in order to utilize your ships' full potential (only the fighty ones, your merchant ships don't need that). Edit: Oh no, you lost both of them?! How terrible TT^TT Don't make the same mistake with the Caspian, get it some crew!
Party, I'm at 34:13... I think since 20 minutes your both ships are not buying sugar from your city... probably the price is too low. It's better place the run destilary in the middle of 6 sugar cultivation fields... actually run have bonus if it is beside residential areas and raw material.... it won't get bonuses if you place one beside the other! ;) OK 38:00 you realise the price of sugar is too low! lol When at war with France, you should go to spain, have a route to southern of english area and spain, you can change it when at peace or at war with Spain... ;) Don't sail at dangerous ports...
I think it would be Best to build your fleet in Trinidad, not Port Royale. The former has more resources for ship building. And you can focus on rum in Port Royale
It looks like they dumbed down the naval battles in the game. In PR3, you had options to buy different types of cannon and gunpowder (I think) for long-range and short-range attacks. You could also equip your men with swords, which helped with boarding and lastly, you could equip your ships with men, which you could buy from extra settlers at port. It now looks like the guns and powder are automatically there but you still need to equip your ships with men to get a higher "power rating" which is a good barometer for whether to fight manually or automatically.
I think trade routes are bugged. Also I highly recommend storing some of the sugar in the warehouse and loading it directly to your ships so you don't have to spend ~40 gold every time. Oh and also I had a similar first experience with trying to fight in a war lol. 2 Frigates down the drain because I was stupid and sieged a town instead of just raiding :)

Build up the City More. To make more money ^^
It's called a rumpire not a rummonwealth, so yes buy that distillery
You should have distilleries in different towns as well.
I think you should do a whole series, this is really enjoyable.

Why does this have so few views? This series is one of the best I've seen for this game.
