We flew in Fort Lauderdale via Southwest, stayed at Hampton Inn. Four of us took Uber from the Fort Lauderdale Airport to Miami Hampton Inn, to get closer to the cruise ship. Getting there a day before the actual cruise is very comforting. Printing documents helped for the hotel stay and the cruise registration lines. August 2017 Royal Caribbean, Enchantment of the Seas was a 4night 5day cruise. We Uber from Fort Lauderdale to Miami and Uber from Miami to Fort Lauderdale was less than $50 there and less than $50 back to Airport. At the Hampton Inn we ate buffet style breakfast prior to getting on the ship. We were ready to explore the ship when we got there. Fun times. Mr Traveler and everyone in his network really help us with great tips on making the best of each trip.

I love the Vista, enjoy yourself, the only problem we had on it was the elevators were really slow and crowded, we would get on it going up sometimes and ride it back down and vice versa.
Great advice. I went on my first cruise in June and flew into Ft Lauderdale, but was unable to find a shuttle service from a hotel if I stayed there. I use Go Shuttle to Miami for $26 and stayed at the River Park Hotel which is a very budget property (read dated) but was in a great location surrounded by some very expensive hotels. Shuttle to the port was $6. I took the Norwegian shuttle back to Ft Lauderdale after the cruise for $25 in plenty of time for my flight. Just on other thing, I went to Disney World for my 50th Birthday (Dec 3rd) a few years back and froze my behind off. A lot of folks were caught off guard that year. LOL
Great tip on MJS, that is a steal. Probably a $100 cab ride or more. We usually drive and stay in FLL and drive to Port Miami the morning of the cruise, might even make a park and cruise deal in FLL worth it! I assume they are easy to arrange back to FLL? Thanks. Enjoy your cruise!
We are flying in a day early to stay in Miami before western Caribbean cruise. When we return, we decided to stay one night in Ft. Lauderdale since the return flight was so cheap and I was able to use my hotel points to cover the hotel room. I was looking for a transport from Port of Miami to hotel. I was completely blown away by the customer service by everyone on that ship! Ok, last year we went to Jamaica, Cozumel, and Cayman Islands. We had a blast in Cozumel. I've heard mixed reviews about Belize from friends and online. What was your experience when you went to Belize? And I heard the area can be sketchy there. What would you guys recommend to get the most out of this port, while being safe? Thanks Jay.

That's a great price I had no idea. It's very inexpensive for me to fly to Orlando and take it from there. I wonder if there is an inexpensive shuttle over to cocoa beach as well? A rental car is great too, especially if I'm staying in Florida. Orlando is a great middle ground for east and west coasts.
We are going to Freeport and Nassau , we have booked excursions for both....how much cash should we bring? How much do you tip for each drink even though we have a drink package?

If so can you recommend an agency or an alternative mode of transportation. The plan is to arrive a day or so ahead of the cruise and rent a car and drive down to West Palm and visit family n then drive back up to The terminal in Port Canaveral. Hello Mr. and Mrs. Traveler, Whats the best way to handle young kids/preteens that are NOT supervised on a cruise ship. We witnessed a group a young teens throwing ice-cream from the 10th floor atrium open area down to the bar-tenders and folks sitting at the bar. I came to have a good time not to watch other folk’s bad ass kids. We told the crew/staff and they said they would handle it.. well they didn’t because the next day we saw that same group throwing food on the lido deck with staff walking around not saying a word cleaning up their mess! We was on the carnival fascination 8/2017
"They" ? Cruise ships can. But let them know you need a wheelchair accessible room. Ships are very accessible for folk in wheelchair. The staff are very helpful.
