Although not necessary, it sure does give you lots of extra room which makes the repair a lot easier, atleast for me in the case of replacing the lightning port.
So many unnecessary stuff to do making it have a higher chance of something going wrong for charging port you only need to remove bottom speaker, SIM card reader, Taptic Engine no need to remove battery or logic board
This could’ve been designed to be much easier to fix or replace by apple. You have to take the whole thing apart, that sucks! This charger port should’ve been inserted from outside and locked with 2 screw,as simple as that.
You put in a screw at the sim card holder and the next frame it disappeared , just please add a note that the screw was put in the wrong spot. Otherwise it's a great tutorial ! Thank you!
I thought it was going to be easy task after googling hoe to replace the port but even though this tutorial is sharp, I don't think I want to do it anymore lol but thanks for the info
What size Y screw driver is needed to remove that first cover for the battery? I have a 0.6 Y and does not fit? This kit you are using has a 0.8 Y is that what your are using?
lmaoooooo why do you need to take the battery and the motherboard off there is no reason for taking either of it off the connector for the cp lays under the sim tray and you just need to work on the bottom of the phone... step up your game i been doing this for 15 years.
Seeing that iPhones have only been around since 2007 the most experience with iPhones you could have is 13 years. I can see reason to remove the logic board and battery, as the charge port is held down by adhesive that needs to be heated up to remove. You don’t want to damage the logic board or battery in the process of heating up the adhesive (lithium ion batteries can only take so much heat before they start to degrade/ overheat. On the other hand with the logic board, you don’t want to fry any components or allow the solder to reflow and cause a short. So it’s all a safety measure). No harm in being too cautious when it comes to working on delicate hardware. Trust me, it’s also nice to have extra room to use your spudger to help remove adhered cables along with giving room to install the replacement part that is covered in adhesive around the charge port. iPhones today weren’t made like they were 10-13 years ago, today they are made with the intent to stop people from working on their own devices, thus it is important not to destroy any components for both one, because you don’t want to have to spend more money, and two, because many components are serially paired/ are much more tricky to repair than a charge port.
No need to remove almost all of the inner parts to change the Lightning Connector! You can leave the mainbord, the cam and the battery pack!
Agreed. That was unnecessary removing all of that :)
I thought so I was wondering why he did
Too much work 😂😂😂😊
I’m pretty sure you don’t have to remove 95 percent of the insides to get to the charging port. But thanks for the video
No, you don't need to remove all, just Simcard box tray and unplug 3 cables from motherboard on bottum side
The comment i was looking for
Yeah this is stupid
You wish
This is somewhat a tear down as well. You don’t need to take all these components out to replace the charging port. Great video though!
That’s correct, just make sure you unplug the battery before unplugging any cables though
Although not necessary, it sure does give you lots of extra room which makes the repair a lot easier, atleast for me in the case of replacing the lightning port.
I was thinking the same thing
@@Lukas-zt5jo exactly
@@Lukas-zt5jo my iphone 11 charging port is very loose …. Any idea to repair without replacement?
There’s no need to take half of the components out that you did. It’s just a waste of time and adhesive
agreed, I just did it with only removing as far as sim tray and below.
So many unnecessary stuff to do making it have a higher chance of something going wrong for charging port you only need to remove bottom speaker, SIM card reader, Taptic Engine no need to remove battery or logic board
Caution - putting cameras on your magnetic mat can delete them from the functional world.
You don’t have to take motherboard and battery off to replace it !!!
You forgot connect back wireless charger connector :D
Amazing video! Regardless if you take apart the whole things. Best video that i found and best way to get familiarized with all components. Nice work!

How are they gonna make you get a whole new phone then?
Why do you think Apple is so expensive
were can i find an oem one that wont lead to boot loops?
Lol you forget to install wireless charging port connector into motherboard 😂😂😂😂😂😂

on a side note, removing the battery isn't necessary
How much it will cost at apple service centre
Really clear and really helpful - thank you very much.
do you replace that small round rubber gasket on what appears to be the microphone? i cant seem to get mine to fit properly
Excellent tutorial and very sharp video! Thanks
nice phone background, I am also a hormonal young man
If it’s not apple original will it still work?
Does such a small task require so much work?
No. He took out most of the insides for the hell of it. You need to take out the vibrator, speaker and sim card reader
does it work also for 11 mini??
very nice and clean work!
Your video so good but dont remove pcb for hosing only remove sim jakect
Do you need to program the port? Because when I put the new port in my phone was laggy and would bootlop.
what's up with the screw that is put in at @15:08 and then magically disappears 3 seconds later?
Why didn't you plug up the charger afterwards to show it worked? Other than that informative
Because he probably fucking broken handling the Face ID the way he did… What an amateur
I thought it was going to be easy task after googling hoe to replace the port but even though this tutorial is sharp, I don't think I want to do it anymore lol but thanks for the info
I don’t think hoes replace lightning ports.
Is the mic also connected to the changing port?
Yes
Does the part fit on a Iphone 11 pro max? Or do I need another one?
Tenho certeza de que você não precisa remover 95% do interior para chegar à porta de carregamento. Mas obrigado pelo vídeo
That great job
Thanks
Bro u didn't plug the wireless charging connector man
Bro, I made the change and now the iPhone restarts every 3 minutes. What should I do? Help me
Thank you very much good Sir.
Should have tested if it will charge
Why you just take all that out lmaooooo

What screw drivers needed?
iPhones have 4 types of screwhead:
Pentalobe
Phillips
Tripoint
Standoff
Thank you. That is all

ขอบคุณครับ
Y he has removed all parts 😂😂😂😂 u dont need to remove sone of these but still a good video
Cool
Why are you doing all these unnecessary and risky Procedures like removing the face ID, battery and logic board? They’re COMPLETELY POINTLESS!!!
Bro what are you doing ? 😐
No replies to anyone !
I didn’t realize you’d have to pretty much take everything out before you get to the charger port... RIP guess I’ll get someone else to do it
you dont have too he did way to much
I’m the 1k like :)
this is not Funny!
