This was awesome, and it was actually easy to see how you'd follow along using many other synths as well. Thanks! I sure wish there was more EBM and Industrial sound design tutorials out there like this.
@@Tonepusher I’ve been getting help from Chris of Mindless Faith but I struggle having those rippling bass riffs. Maybe you could make a video on creating them. Not necessarily the tone but notes and go over scales?! I’m originally a guitarist playing in slam/death metal bands. Just recently made a change in style with this channel. So I’m pulling all the tips I can get.
@@TonepusherLooking at groups like Front Line Assembly and the bass on Eye on You. I’ve experimented with having different filters open and closed, depending on how the note pitches, but can’t quite figure out the style of note pattern.
@@DielectricFailure Yeah there's multiple ways of making basses like that. My favorite would be to assign the velocity to the cutoff and then write the riff by hand. For the riff from what I hear the last part of the riff might be a pitch automation. The rest is a ''normal'' bass riff hehe Could also be written ''by hand'' hard to say just by listening though
Amazing video mate, kudos to you. I wonder if you could recreate the bass sound from Caustic Grip by FLA. The way I see it's right in the middle between old school EBM and 90s electro-industrial.
Hey thanks man 🤘🏻 yeah that album is sooooo good! I love the vibe. There's many many different bass sounds on it though. But yeah I guess I could recreate it without using too much plugins. The problem with Serum is that there's only one distortion FX unit.
excellent explanation! In my opinion, the arpeggiator is also very important and it would be be perfect and interesting, if you explain your workaround.
please some bands with interesting basslines please if you can recreate and make a video it would be interesting, thanks for your video ... tribantura - lack of sense, The Force Dimension - Lasergunn,
This tutorial has been very good for my future productions🖤, thank you. If you come to my channel I hope you like my old style EBM track "Nothing is real". ⛓⚙⛓🔥🔥
Nice to see EBM getting some love. Thanks for making this! Cheers!
haha np! yeah there's so many tutorials on EDM, pop, dubstep and hiphop. I like all style of music but...Let's give real music some love hehe 🤘🏻
More. More! MOOOOOOORE!!!
Thanks, finally someone talking about the dark side of electronic music. Enough with EDM, we want more EBM!
Haha couldn't agree more 🤘SOOO many EDM, Dubstep and Hip Hop videos, packs and tutorials. Enough is enough! lol
I am happy I found this. There is a dearth of EBM tutorials on UA-cam, and I am so glad people are stepping in to fill the void.
hell yeah 🤘 more EBM/Industrial videos to come :)
Groovy 👌

This was awesome, and it was actually easy to see how you'd follow along using many other synths as well. Thanks! I sure wish there was more EBM and Industrial sound design tutorials out there like this.
Thanks man! I'll try to make more industrial/EBM stuff :) People seems to like it and it's true there's not much stuff online.
@@Tonepusher that sure would be swell. Thanks again. I've got it saved to try it on the weekend.

@@DielectricFailure okok yeah I'll make more EBM/Industrial videos for sure. Do you have any specific bass sounds or songs in mind?

Yes sir!!!
I would love to hear full song of it!
haha thanks man, yeah I'm really thinking about releasing some ebm stuff...again. haha
excellent explanation! In my opinion, the arpeggiator is also very important and it would be be perfect and interesting, if you explain your workaround.
Yeah you're 100% right, there's a kind of ''riff'' that sounds more EBM than others hehe
Awesome!
Thanks :) 🤘🏻
I finally found you !
…trance maybe.
The best ever ebm bassline tutorial I’ve ever seen, hands down!!! I wish someone could do the same thing in Ableton
Hey! Thanks a lot 🤘🏻
Really helpful. Thanks !
Hey :) no problem! I'm planning to make more EBM videos 🤘🏻
Nice video :)
How did you do the robot voice, so cool? 😊
Thank you :) I did it in Premiere Pro.
Pitch shifter+delay+flanger!
Could you make a video using free syth plugins i.e. surge xt?
Just picked up O. S. EBM, will this make me a superstar?
😁😁😁
Cheers 🥂
to care!
The Front 242 bassline is FM, right?
yes it is!
4828 Kaycee Ports
Is that you address? :D lol

Happy to hear that man, I listened to your stuff. Pretty cool! Love the old school vibe 👌🏻
0:15 What's a song??
Front Line Assembly - Neologic Spasm 🤘
would be nice if someone could apply this for the free Vital synth
Well, technically you could apply the same settings to Vital and get almost the same sound!
Software with an analog section... It's not possible.
I never said that it was analog hehe It's the "Analog waveforms" section of Serum. 🤷🏻♂️ They named it like that ;)
Pretty good ! Honestly , it sound more synthwave than E.B.M .
haha fair enough. Well, synthwave basses are inspired by many many styles of music hehe
