For instance, the two bookmarks you created for barchart and treemap 5:36. clicking on any will change the view/reset the filters for the entire page, I would like it to change for just that visual maintaining all filtered items. Any help?
Hi Mr. Bas Do you have a technique or solution on how to use DAX or any other method using a button using a bookmark to set as a default the first record in a table visual in PBI. I have a table visual with a list of names with a add_date on the first column and want to make sure that when the user opens this page in PBI the first row is selected. I love your clarity and way of explaining things on technical solutions. Hope to hear from you soon

yes, you can do that with bookmarks ( make sure to capture the data state ) ... but I probably would do it with normal slicers .. you can check out the file for this video -> ua-cam.com/video/FoEnJ35yG8g/v-deo.html .. i think there is a slicer that lets you switch periods

I have a dashboard where you can select products (over a matrix) and in result you see some line charts etc. Now I added a bookmark where you can show or hide a matrix with customers. I found the matrix a better choice than a slicer because I can show additional numbers (eg turnover) as well. Now I want to select a few customers on that matrix and after that is done, I want to hide the matrix by using the bookmark again. But.....right after the matrix is hidden again I loose my customer selection. Is there any way to keep that selection (e.g. writing it into a slicer )? I hope you can give a hint. Thank you

As far as I understand, the bookmark MenuClosed is 'forced' to be associated with the Barchart View or the Tremap View but not independent. Any workaround?
That's my concern with bookmarks ... you have to create a lot of them to handle such situations. And for any change in the report you have to go and update all the bookmarks.

When I click on a on a bar chart visualisation, my table visualisation will filter down and vice versa, if I select a row on the table the bar chart will filter also (this will happen when both visuals are showing on the page). When I created a bookmark to hide and show the bar chart or table as I only want one showing on the page the filters when selected from either visual are not being preserved? Any ideas as to why? I have unticked Data on bookmarks but this still hasn’t helped?
Thanks for this. I start my first Junior PowerBI developer role soon. Kinda nervous but feel ready to challenge myself. I still have allot to learn and work on like Dax etc but videos like this helps allot to understand and learn as you go.

Hi Sonali, when the data option is checked, it will capture the current state of the data within filters, slicers, and visuals. That means when you navigate to the bookmark, you will see exactly the same state of your data. Same for display, when it is checked it captures the visual state (for example focus mode). Then you need to decide if the bookmark needs to capture the state of all visuals or only the selected ones.
Great video! This has five. Me an idea to make a notice for my users. Using a text box, a notice would be open for users at the start. They would close out and there would be no option to open the notice again. Exciting stuff

In bookmarks settings instead of "All visuals" select "selected visual" then select only those which you want to update ..befote updating bookmark
My bookmark also removes the "Filters on this page" in the filters pane. Is there a way to work around this?

When I change report name and publish to service...end-users' bookmarks no longer work...how can I resolve this?

Remove filters - without using Ctrl can we do it?
Not in power bi desktop. If you publish to power bi service then it works without ctrl.

if you have a line or bar/line combo chart you can go to format -> shapes and turn on "stepped" 🙂

you can select that the bookmark acts only on "selected visuals" from the 3 dot menu on the bookmark, instead of "all visuals"
