We went to Portland for the eclipse a few years ago. It was Cindy's first trip after coming to the US. She thought the pine trees were awesome!
Cool! We watched it from the Oregon coast. Pretty sure I have a UA-cam video on that.
Born and raised here in Portland Oregon, 40 years next month, it is a beautiful state when people aren't rioting :(
If you are still here in Oregon y.ou really need to visit the coast, Newport is my personal favorite place. Despite the politics here Oregon really is beatiful, great climate (except for the last month) not too hot and not too cold. Mountains, the coast and deserts, it has a bit of everything. Really hope you enjoyed your time here :)
