As protesters in central Kiev took over the parliament building on Saturday, others headed to President Yanukovych's highly controversial private estate of Mezyhrhrya, just outside the city.
The estate, half the size of Monaco, cost hundreds of millions of dollars to build, much of it coming from embezzlement and corruption, and had long been in the protesters' sights. The average monthly salary for an Ukrainian citizen is around 200 Euros, so their President's opulent lifestyle was a constant slap in the face that could no longer be ignored.
VICE News went along with thousands of curious Ukrainians to take a look and walk around Yanukovych's house, like a kleptocrat's version of Cribs.

Omg lol.... Yanakuvich is watching this like "take you shoes off before you walk in" "don't touch that" "do you know how much this shit is going to cost to repair".... Glad that the ppl of Ukraine get to see how he was living...

The best part of this story is: the palace isn't picked clean and ransacked by Ukrainians like those of Gaddafi's or Saddam's.

Ukrainians are civilized and educated people. More educated than the average EU person, in fact. Everyone understands the great meaning of this historic victory.

That's because even poor Whites are generally pretty civilized. A lot of Eastern Europe's current backwardness can be blamed on the left-wing Russian socialist imperialists who enslaved Eastern Europeans during the Soviet era.

Tony Bridge Ukrainians are better educated and religions doesn't rule there whole lives. unfortunately in the middle east they have a dark age right know were religion rules the people. Europe was the same until they took power from the Church.

And you people should realize that 24 hours before Mezhigorie was open to people 6 TRUCKS and 2 choper's just moved stuff from the Mezhigorie. If he forgot golden plated Ukrainian money and a bread made of gold that weight's more then 2 Kg then you can imagine what stuff did he move in those 6 trucks. You should also check out ex minister's of Ukraine they lived like Kings room's all made with gold Pshonka,Zaharchenko, Tsarev and hundre's of other's member's of the leading party of Ukraine

In Russia they call this "pigs at the trough", they push each other out of the way to get to the food and when they get there they eat as much as possible as fast as possible. This little piggy was there for a long time, you can see just how much he has taken and that's only his house and only one of the houses, imagine the bank accounts. Oh he ran alright but he isn't broke. And now the next piggy is going to take his place and feed, and all the other piggy's that were there with the previous one are still going to be there also feeding and this is why everyone else is poor. Do we need them? Ukraine, US, Russia, what is the difference? DO WE NEED THE PIGS EATING AT OUR TROUGH? You cant escape it any more, you cant deny it, its right here for all of you to see no matter what country you are from. Others are already doing it, so Ill ask the rest of you: should we go piggy hunting?
