Exactly. Children are totally defenseless. How can a human heart bring an action of violence or death to a child knowing they can't defend themselves. I'll never understand. I don't judge others cuz the heart is desperately wicked but to kill a child?? 😢😢 I don't get it.

That first story reminds me of the Dennis Martin disappearance. In 1969 at the age of 6 he disappeared on a family trip to the Great Smoky Mountain park in Tennessee. Eye witnesses said they saw a man running holding something red over his shoulder & jumped into a white car. Dennis Martin was wearing a red jacket. The search effort was the most extensive in the park's history, involving 1,400 searchers & covered a 56 square mile area. He was never found.

The Mormon family story was nearly identical to what happened between me and my ex. He was a nutjob and I was convinced he was going to kill either me, my daughter, or all of us! He even cut and pasted my diaries, documenting his abuse of us, so the parts where I defended us were all that was left. This of course made it look like I was attacking him and not the other way around. Luckily my doctor, who was the expert witness to my injuries from him, demanded to see the real diaries and not the cut-and-paste version! When the real diaries were presented my ex was slapped with domestic violence charges. That story brought all that back again. I guess most abusers are the same or similar in how they abuse. I too wasn't allowed to see my family and friends. I was to go out of the compound to earn money to support the family and then I had to go right home!! It was like a prison! I'm just grateful we got out alive. I feel sooooooooo sorry for those who don't get out alive. God bless their souls!!

I'll never forget I was out in the woods behind my house collecting sticks and being stupid with my knife and i ended up cutting the top of my thumb down the middle (fortunately it really was right in the middle and my bone stopped the knife). but it was like 30 something degrees and I was walking up the hill with my hands in a cupping shape and like feeling the hot blood being cupped in my palms compared to the cold air on the backs of my hands just will never leave me.

I think this is common for most children and why experts and laws don’t recommend babysitting for children under the age of 13.

The mother especially screaming at her daughter, is disgusting behaviour. Making young girls at an age like that ‘responsible’ for their smaller siblings is ridiculous! Shame on the parents for being mad at the girl! Total projection

This is what I was thinking too! Why were both parents angry at the 7yr old child, as though she could prevent an abduction? It's not her job to look after her brother, it's her job to be a kid and happily make little snowmen, like she was doing. Irritated the hell out of me.

I live in Washington state & just wanted to say "bravo!" on correctly pronouncing the name of the city where Joshua Powell was born (25:45 mark). Many non-locals get it wrong, as the spelling looks odd. I live about 30 minutes west of Puyallup. 🙂

Maaaaaaaaaan lets read out did himself with these stories. I was so captivated.
There first story with the little boy by the lake I think that the boy feel into the lake and a gaurdian helped him out because why wouldn't he have just said a man took me across the lake.
Third story took me for a loop It just got progressively worse. It's crazy how the father took a long oath to ruin his children's lives like he was the devil reincarnated. And the the son end up giving in then the ending was unimaginable. That's why they say truth is crazier then fiction.

These are some of the best stories I have heard within the Spooky Stories genre on UA-cam. They are advertised as true, and that draws me in initially. Whether genuinely true or not, these stories never strained my credulity or my ability to suspend disbelief. That is absolutely critical for me. Many channels produce "true" stories that are obvious fiction: that spoils it for me. Additionally, here the narration is genuine: a real person. AI bots also spoil it for me. Idiot "creepy pasta" spoils it for me. Endless retellings of the same tired material across multiple channels spoil it for me. We need to recognize our real storytellers here on UA-cam, snd we need to encourage them not to succumb to the temptations of AI, and to produce quality material that is good enough to disturb mature adults. Kudos to you, Let's Reader! We recognize and appreciate you! Keep up the good work!

I watched a video of the interrogation on that susan/josh case, also dived into it a bit but not like this.
I did not know he did that to those poor boys. I was under the impression that it was the house explosion.
What that monster did in the kitchen stopped me in my tracks at work. People are awful
