This song brings me back to a good feeling as a young kid. I see the meaning in it now as an adult, which makes it even cooler. I’ve always loved this band.
This song will stay relevant until the end of time, literally. Fabulous song and I think this is the best version of it. I know the fellas in the band probably don't like each other that much now but I think all of them were fantastic. Men At Work are a truly great band. It's horrible that Greg passed so young.
This Jewel of a song brings me back to my 13th birthday in 1983. I used my b-day gift $$ to buy this amazing album. Of course, in vinyl back then. I must have played it a million times and guess what? Here we are 41 years later and it’s still as enjoyable and relevant, I may add. LOVE the 80’s. Proud GenXer. Love Men at Work!
I was also 13 back in 1983. I used my paper route money to but this vinyl album. I still have all the MAW vinyl albums. A few years ago I seen Colin Hay in concert in Bloomington, Indiana. After the concert he was signing autographs, which was awesome. It was great to actually meet him almost 40 years after I first heard him sing with MAW. MAW is still my favorite band.
My stepbrother and i listened to this concert, shoot, the whole weekend as 10yo's at a campground in Deland, FL. It was being broadcasted over a local radio station.... we'll never have that stuff again.
I've heard this song when the sun was going down and the street lights were turning on in Phoenix. I've never forgot the mood especially being 12 at the time. Still a awesome song.
Phoenix (or barely GLENDALE) in 2024 still digging the song across the border at 55th avenue/Camelback Rd (I am one of those evil Glendale people now!. hey, I'm only a block away until the border officially changes!)
This is what I like to see and listen to! A REAL band REALLY playing and REALLY singing REALLY live, without playbacks, autotune and all that SH!T, that all the " SINGERS" of these days, can´t stop using!! And what it´s really wonderful is that the song sounded just almost like the original track!! Only a very few differences that made us realize, that they were really playing. It´s so frustrating to go to a "concert", where they use all the time autotune and playback. and the most frustrating thing is when you want to listen to the band or the singer playing and singing, but they use to be quiet and put the microphone in the air, so the audience can sing theirselves. If I would want to sing myself, I WOULD GO TO A KARAOKE!! I don´t want to buy an expensive concert ticket to sing karaoke! And some of those "singers" who come only to make us sing ourselves, don´t stop making us sing, but they continue doing it almost through the whole song! Here´s an example: ua-cam.com/video/i4Xl7UvUq_I/v-deo.html But what a great band Men at Work was! I still have one of their albums, that it has the best of their songs, and I still listen to it.
@@joedecker3900that's cool if people find comparisons to other music they like. But yea i don't really listen to Kinks besides the occasional song on the radio or something. With Men at Work though, I'm actively seeking out live performances of my favourite songs by them
Yeah after their 2nd album I feel they shifted to heavily towards a more western sound. They already had that unique Australian charm to their songs beforehand. Which is why the port album will always be my favorite
This tune transports me directly back to '83. God Bless those talented boys!
I agree. What a great time we're the 80s. Wish I was still there.
You will always be there@@craigstephen7211
wow that baseline, sounds gorgeous, they had excellent sound quality at this concert
It's an amazing baseline!

Ahhh. This was fun to watch ! Brought me back to my 20s. Reminded me how much I love this group and Colin in particular!

Remarkably close to the album recording 👌

Que banda genial.
O solo de guitarra me transporta diretamente pra esse tempo 😵💫
I remember this on HBO in the US. Still love MAW! RIP Greg.
Nice riffing from the guitarist. One of my favorite songs of the 80s

parece que a guitarra tem a puxadinha de pepeu gomes
it's summer's day
Great song!! Too bad they never read a History Book in 1980.
Men At Work still reminds me of Huey Lewis & The News.
Very strange I was just thinking that before I read your comment. Not sure why or how but they are similar in a way
You mean Huey Lewis and the news remind you of Men at Work.
@@colinmacgregor8718 This would be correct lol. Although I personally do not see it between these 2 bands lol.
Many countries had this "formulamatic" type group... I'm glad you noticed it
I hear no similarity

😃
They remind me of the kinks
That’s not a bad thing! Colin Hay does have a Ray Davies vibe
Men at Work are probably more famous than the Kinks, so it should be the Kinks remind you of Men at Work.
Sounds like Men At Work to me!

It may be a mistake but I fear that it is all intentional.
Can you post who can it be now?
I tried once, it got blocked.
They uploaded the full show ua-cam.com/video/3LgSGvy5Tes/v-deo.html. Not as good quality
^ Hm, they were lucky to get it past the copyright check. Quality's ok too, just a bit softer/more compressed than my uploads.
It is re-uploaded with slight better quality on the channel
^ Yeah, that's the stuff now. Pretty much as good as you can get it looking on UA-cam.
40 years later, it's still a mistake. 🇺🇳 X 🇷🇺🇨🇳 🙄
Back when Colin still had his Australian accent.
Yeah after their 2nd album I feel they shifted to heavily towards a more western sound. They already had that unique Australian charm to their songs beforehand. Which is why the port album will always be my favorite

Ya, where are all the peace nic's now as we are facing WW3?
Stormy chose that one
Great song. This does not reflect history.
