Zangarmarsh is honestly one of my favorite zones. The atmosphere is just so unique, with a city built on a mushroom.

**creation of outland**
Draenor: bruh
I remember loving this zone. After the dark, oppressive, blood-red desert of Hellfire Peninsula, coming in here I was like "ooohhh! Pretty blue!! Pretty giant mushrooms!!" Still dark and eerie, yet soothing.
this music is so intense, you can litterally feel the rain on your skin and the warmth from the zone
Warmth? It looks like a cold place to me. Permanently wet :o
i wish modern-day zones were this ambient
They are. But in a different way
Even though i stopped playing WoW a long time ago, the music is still exceptional!
and always will be, brother :)
Zangar has very special atmosphere. I really liked that feeling, music, colors, beasts... TBC was so amazing!
The music is all i need now from this game. It's dead game for me right now because of enormous changes since wotlk when i played last, but music makes me think: "yes, that is the game of the world, the game that every player should discover, the game that is leaving in our mind amazing memories since first day of release... just THE game.
+Li nuX Personally , I continued playing just for fun and for the lore , the pvp is still pretty good although no longer appealing as it used to be , i'm not into pve yet still it doesn't look that terrifying , The lore sometimes gets fucked up and sometimes get really fun to see ingame just like in Wod , to see how Outlands zones used to look like , or to see how pnjs were before , an example is Giselda the Crone from the wanted quest in Nagrand , found her randomly in some zones in Wod , same for many other npcs and references for old quests , the music is also as good as it used to be back in the days , so overall it's still worth checking out but as you said , the game started dying ever since cataclysm was released .
Fun Fact: This music is actually Ahn'qiraj/Silithus with a few minor tweaks
major tweaks. Listen to the AQ theme. It's way more insect-like!
It isn't that much of an Ahn'Qiraj music. There are only leitmotifs from Ahn'Qiraj, but only in like a one music theme.
When I came back in Cataclysm I forced myself to lvl a new char, to enjoy this zone again, and even went back to just enjoy it some more. Mostly cuz of the music and atmosphere :)
Eastern Plaguelands has giant mushrooms too!
This zone has such good music. I still love it.
I used to fly and land on top of those huge mushrooms!
I agree with the later part of you comment, but bland and boring zones?!?! These zones were some of the best looking and feeling zones in the game! I had soooo much fun exploring and questing in Outland.
The fun I had at the time in this zone will never come back :
easily my favorite Outland region
WOW, that's exactly my situation when I started playing. I started in January 2007 and played for many years. I too had problems as a casual gamer. However I felt that when Blizzard added things to make casual life easier, the hard-core players were big bullies in the raids and didn't make it fun at all. Like you, I did a lot of PVP battlegrounds, but I did miss the raiding as well.
The music fits perfectly for this territory, always a pleasure questing or just chilling in this area from time to time.
This music is just straight up perfect.
Still never found that blasted fire fly!
I love this zone. Best zone ever designed in the universe.
Back when games were designed by gamers, for gamers. No pay-to-win features or microtransactions. Just a fully immersive experience, one where you felt like you and your character had become one in and with the game. I feel like the art design in TBC was phenomenal for the time, yet so many people are sleeping on the soundtrack.
I am lookin forward how they show this zone in Warlords of Draenor. I heard they might to make this underwater zone, I still have hope to go there and explore. Keep the hype maniacs!
For some reason the music in this zone is the one that's stuck to me all this time the strongest.
remembering the first time entering this zone when BC came out.....it was fantastic :) tripin' away seeing those mushrooms, magical stuff!
'Damn...'wasmy reaction after the red surfaces of Hellfire Penninsula, suddenly i was there with my party of guildies fighting creatures i had never imagened WoW could have(marsh stalkers and Fungual Giants)and the giant dark-but-beautiful- zone captured my heart.
I remember in BC I had to farm primals for my brother while he was not home before I could go on my character hahaha
I haven't played WoW in almost two years, but I'm thinking about returning to it... Something that would chase me right off again, however, would be if they were to tamper with Zangarmarsh in any way, or if they removed it. Zangarmash has always been my favorite zone, and it would piss me *right* off if they did anything to it.
I've heard some things about WoD, but I haven't really done much research. Can anyone confirm to me whether or not this old BC version of Zangarmarsh will still be available in-game? Or are they permanently morphing it into something else, like they did with most of the zones in Cataclysm?
+ArmoredMewtwo I'm pretty much sure you already know what happened to zangarmarsh in Wod , just leaving this comment here , as far as i've seen there is no zangarmash , the place is a sea tho there are some giant mushrooms around
+ArmoredMewtwo Outlands untouched. WoD is a completely new area.
This zone has grown on me with age.
4:55 - 5:20!
That part was specifically made by Matt Uelmen 😆
By far my favourite outland zone!!!
Nagrand is great and all but this is my favorite Outland zone. It was just dare I say cool and otherworldly in a way. Spent so much time running heroic Coilfang Reservoir dungeons and getting exalted with the Cenarian Expedition and Sporeggar.
Here I remember running around killing flies trying to get that firefly pet to drop.
I honestly have not found no movie or game that tops off WoW soundtrack.
That first bit gave me shivers.
At first zangarmarsh appears really weird with all the giant mushrooms, yet with the cenarion and sporregar quests, I found it to be one of my favorite zones.
Many people hated this zone, I loved it, so chill and comfy.
This place... ah! We made an arena team called "Zangarmarsh Terrorfrogs". It was the best :D
I loved the place where you took the elevator...
@Janox81
WHAT? THE ATMOSPHERE WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!!! :O
At 3:30 and 5:45, you can hear where they used the the Ahn'Qiraj Vanilla theme several times. One of my favorites...
The best part of this zone was first comming here after getting to level 62. I mean what can I say it was the first expansion ever comming from Vanilla. These were exciting times in wow history and this was one of the better zones.
I still remember farming those naga getting blasted by tons of frost bolts. Good times.
7:25 8:46 is the best! Best thing I have ever herd in my life
Bruh, 14 years now since I grinded them frigging ogres for nethercloth and coins. Replacing vanilla epics with green drops from this zone. Spent hours of fishing there just for the great scenery and of course the soundtrack..
4:50 best music.
Cenarion Refuge
Hey, Plaguelands has giant mushrooms too!
...Well technically just fungi, but...
I found it so quick after maybe 20 kills-so good.
I started playing WoW during BC as totally casual player. No guild, no plans to ever do raiding etc.. So I did mostly questing, leveling different characters, exploring the zones to the last detail, level professions, work the auction house, and of course do a lot PVP in battlegrounds. There was nothing hard, ever. On the contrary I had increasing problems to find real challenges. This became even harder with WotLK let alone with Cata. The noobification killed WoW, nothing else.
I loved the fact that raiding was hard. it gave a place for the more hardcore players to go. Now everything is casualized and dumbed down.
@Zaphodox Agree completely. LOVED The Burning Crusade expansion. Hands down the best one so far!
It's ironic really. During vanilla, people complained that there was never enough quests, instances and raids. They added much more content, and people ended up wasting time PvPing in shattrath instead of enjoying the new content. I remember having a hell of a time getting a party together cuz most were fucking off instead. People werent good enough because the hardcore people wouldnt take the time to let someone new in their parties. It wouldnt take all that long to get newbs broken in.
best zone ever. best music in a RPG ever. damn i miss this zone.
I was a casual player, I raided 2-3 days a week TOPS..and I cleared BT. With regards to people being not good enough..thats a load of BS. There were plenty of guilds raiding Kara and T4 content and happy doing so. Sure they may have dabbled in some T5 content but were happy where they were. And the only 2 things I could think of in BC that took long (besides rep gathering) were Kara attunment and Arc Key...both of which werent overly long.
Addicted to that music!
Best one ever
why does WoW have to be so addicting damn it.
The most "fantasmagoric" country in WoW, but wonderful with many good memories.
I am playing on private progressive server where vanilla is now present and I cant fucking wait for the TBC again.. I missed out the most from this content as i only went thru there to exp up so i cant wait to go thru it again with others at the same time
Pre-nerf Sunwell was just as ballcrushingly hard as Lv60 Naxx or C'thun
I never liked leveling in this zone , because i always felt exausted, sleepy and tired...almost hungout feeling. It has to be because that bluish tone, my eyes always felt so heavy there. Though Zangarmarsh is not bad per se...
Love it!!
love this place!!
But Blizz are experts at making awsome music to go with zones! This is a good example.
A World punished by dark powers. But the world still...
Too many people in this freakin place, killing those nagas and Umbrafen Oracles. STop stealing my mobs
best zone in vanilla/tbc/wotlk
True, it's just the opinion of players who enjoyed it(me too, I love TBC, don't know why) :D
I like games to be a challenge, Wow classic and BC where really challenging for me.....raiding in classic, the first heroics in BC where like: omg how we ever gonna do this! But with some dedication it was absolutely possible for everybody to know your class and pawn heroics in bc....raiding was a bit too much asked for the casual player....but still if you where sitting all day in shattrah maybe you should have looked for another game :)
Now I can look back at this zone fondly, wherein my memories have been turned to gold by time itself. It makes me happy.
But by GOD was I bored as FUCK in this zone. Sporeggar rep grinding was the most boring shit ever. And all for a damn tabard that wasn't too good looking in the first place. I remember listening to countless podcasts while grinding in Zangarmarsh.
>Still better than Blade's Edge.
only zone in WoW with giant mushrooms? isn't there a place in the eastern plaguelands with giant mushrooms in it?
I've not felt it was addicting since TBC. I've just not been compelled to play.
BC is talked about as being the best expansion ever, but honestly the zones were "mostly" bland and boring, there were tons of recycled mobs in the game and no one could raid due to either not being good enough or not having the time because it took insane amount of hours to complete. What I remember about BC was everyone sitting around in Shattrah doing PvP.
Love the describe ^^
He complained about not having anything challenging, but he didn't try everything so... Where does that leave us? He didn't think PvP was hard, but he didn't raid or do Heroics. He complains about it being way too easy? (o-o)
IMAGINE MARIO COMING HERE
Big mushroom :)
Really* and yes they do :-)
They didn't keep me interested. I quit a few weeks before Cata went live and just got a MoP trial. I wasn't impressed with either Cata or MoP.
I vastly disagree. Maybe by "no one could raid due to not being good enough or having the time" you mean that, unlike today, you actually had to put in a little bit of effort in order to get good gear and know how to play your class properly. Also, the game wasn't all about being the most epic/imba as it is now so people actually enjoyed things like exploration and questing, instead of racing to be allowed to do the most epic stuff.
Well it didn't work on me i joined late BC and quit early cata, i had no intrest in playing. Not because it was "too hard", but because I was bored. I really had no intrest in laying anymore
This music is very Pink Floyd like.
I loved WoW for many many years, but I've left now simply because I feel they've tweaked it to death so it's lost its heart now. It's like what George Lucas did with the original three films. It started out nice and simple. Fun. You didn't need it complicated to just have fun. But after years of tweaking it over and over (Anakin's ghost is out, now in, now with one actor, now with Hayden, etc.) its completely destroyed what it originally meant to do. The message of fun is gone.
0:30
Haha yea I loved that
So, wait... Cataclysm's Heroic Dungeons WEREN'T hard?
God i hate this zone.... too many mushrooms
Next time try to not EAT one of them nor All of THEM :D
well cata WAS a disaster for wow and also mop is...
the Thing is what i and many of my (former) gamemates are complaining about: wow lost its Storyline since WotLk
the first two expansions related directly to wc III and classic in cata and mop they invented some new stuff that most off the Players disliked hardly what u can see on the heavy losses of Players since cata... when i am right its about 25% that left since the highest score at wotlk times
And they USED TO know how to make really really good games. They really put so much effort and love (lol) into it.
All the things coming from Blizzard nowadays are just money-making-products.
As dumb as this comment seems, we all know that this is true... :(
@1Ceslovas More like Lady Naga :D
why when this amazing music ends, youtube reccomends me watch lady gaga..?
Haha "Blizzard is a genius" it's finally happend Blizzard has become self aware and grown beyond a meagre company into a singular beeing with its own will and thought. God help us all the "addictivness" can no longer be marginalized.
magic mashroom *.*
No
naga naga naga naga naga naga naga
I'm 100 pussent naga.
You think BC was hard? Try vanilla.
i love lady gaga and i love WoW problem? XD paws up #spreadlove
It doesn't seem dumb. You're absolutely correct. Blizzard sucks ass now. Kung Fu Panda : crap, Diablo 3: crap, SC2 : Meh, Cata: crap
love the music, but the zone farming was awful
