I swear that UB40 lowkey invented drum and bass, low-fi and trance without even knowing what genius they had generated between them.

When people say all reggae sounds the same..so how is it when you listen to a dub track you find yourself singing the tune and filling in missing parts of melodies just by that abstract sound that resembles that melody (in dub).

2021 not kind. Your Dads sax was the melody of my younger years. Not a musical bone in my body but I whistled everywhere I went. Still do. Just bopping around whistleing your Dad's sax. The last 6 months I've run into people on mountain trails who have heard me from far away doing my best. UB40?!!! RIP Brian Travers
This is gorgeous. Bought the first album on release. I'd just bought a sax & the first things I tried to play along to were on Signing Off. Happy days. Saw them in Liverpool in 81. One of the best gigs ever.😍

This is fucking epic ....I've been a musician for twenty years and I swear this song is one one of the true greats ....considering they didn't really know how to play their instruments....it brings me right back to the early 80s and the looming threat of the bomb

I'm 38 and remember 1st hearing ub40 wow. At the time reggae was still prominent in the uk charts. Shaggy etc. But ub40 just had that special feeling. Thx
don't want to meet......., Billy Connolly once said when he heard jail house rock by Elvis Presley his world changed forever, mine was one in ten by UB40 I was 13 I went straight to Bradford from Brighouse and bought my first album present arms in DUB UB40 still the best album I own and i've over 4000 vinyl ska reggae northern soul mod blues jazz disco funk and a little punk, I was already blown away with the 2 Tone movement, the last real political movement in music, it made my heart sing to know Thatcher [sound of spitting] hated The Specials UB40 and weller, I've had the pleasure of meeting the lads and Ali was brilliant with my 2 sons, heart broken with the lack of forgiveness both sides of the divide, ego and dope don't mix, trust me. Thanks Jamie for this priceless piece of art, every blessing Paul x

I saw ub40 at a pub in Doncaster after the races I was 16. I'm now 58 and love ub40 till the day I die. It's a shame they split up. Hopefully they may get back together. Wat a gig that would be. 😍

Jamie, if you're reading this, I'd like to express my condolences on the passing of your father. Jamie is the son of the late great Brian Travers. I met Jamie and his sister at the 2005 Fanfest at the Bournbrook Snooker Club which is one of the places Robin Campbell frequented.
Jamie sorry about your dad man… He was a great saxophonist, really made UB40 shine!. I’ve seen UB40 probably 8 times in my life & they Were always brilliant!. One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen was UB40 at the Santa Barbara County bowl in Santa Barbara California. They were beyond awesome!. Thank you for sharing this I appreciate it a lot.- mark houser

UB40 before they sold out to the commercial market we’re a band of excellent tunes, powerful lyrics and live were superb……Glastonbury in 1983 was a fantastic set…… then Red Red Wine and all the sell out crap came along and I lost interest….. so glad they’ve gone back to their roots and this dub version is a breath of fresh air
