Rest in Praises Upsetter, sonic pilot of the Black Ark, Kimble the Nimble, dreadfather, mad genius visionary inventor of dubscapes, giant, soundtrack to my life
RIP....a true legend. Keith Richards once said of him "More than a producer, he knows how to inspire the artist’s soul. Like Phil Spector, he has a gift of not only hearing sounds that come from nowhere else, but also translating those sounds to the musicians. Scratch is a shaman."
No wonder the British youth of the 1960's and 70's loved and admired this music so much. They (in my opinion) had much better taste in music than Americans. And I'm American.
CBD oil has worked wonders for me, I find vaping it better and quicker acting, although you need to find a good source as many of the juices do nothing for me. And everyone is different so find what works for you, the oil is what some people find better (taken under the tongue).
Hope you get Peace Sally..remember to just appreciate life and its easier said than done but dont let the bs get on top of you. Dont let it in. Peace from Ireland
I'm 66 now and used to run an adventure playground in Peckham Sarf London. I would get free wood from the docklands so the youth could build their sound systems in the building. I learned Jamaican and took a deep dive into dub and the great reggae of the 70s. Thank you dear youth for my immersion! This reminds me so much of those good times. And to this day I still listen to the living godfather LSP.
Lee Perry is so unique, I can’t believe my ear sometimes, those rythm are so genious and with perfect accuracy in the detail of every instrument. Everything is responding with perfection and synchronicity. This is so pure language. No body has never been at this level, no doubt he is the geatest ever as a reggae muscian.
Old guy now, but this is the music of my youth. I went to school in Moss Side, Manchester and a mate took me home for lunch one day and that's when I first heard reggae. Sold!!! Prince Buster, Judge dread, many more were to come. Love out monnnn

Live at the Wild Buffalo. I was going through the worst year of my life. My lady of 20 years and beautiful mother of our children left me. It was a soul crushing time as something wonderful had soured and was drifting away. At the show I reached out and touched the Mad Man's shoe. He looked down to me and held my gaze for a long minute. The bass and horns were banging. He put up the peace sign and I raised my hand up and gestured peace to him. He kept looking me straight in my eyes and then gently put his peace sign into mine and I couldn't stop moving and crying. He knew suffering in many forms and saw mine. With his kindness and music I felt a pressure removed from my heart. Like I knew I was going to make it. He did it again once more later in the show and I left feeling very different than when I had arrived. What a gift, Thank You Dub Father.

Am now rapidly approaching pensioner status. Originally West Landon Skinhead, when it was about the music and the togetherness. Some of the great to tunes of my youth. Presented by one of the great masters of sound
Good to hear from the old guard. My crew and I were booted n' suited in the late '80s on the other side of the pond, but were still all about the roots. The Upsetter remains one of my all-time favs. Cheers and keep the faith...

yes I. Sounds like a few reggae concerts in Park City nights in the late '80's! Dancing in the parking lot after the concert with strangers/best buds for hours with car stereo blasting under the stars.
The undisputed King of Reggae Dub had a massive influence on me as a young man. Yes, it was late at night in the late 70's and I had been smokin' some very potent green. Sydney radio station JJ 1540 AM were well known for playing experimental and avant garde music. That's where I first heard Lee ' Scratch ' Perry. In June 1980, JJ became JJJ 105.7 FM and the music sounded even better. Superlatives cannot describe or do justice to the man and his contribution to music, art and culture.
Went to see Lee Scratch Perry at the Milkweg in Amsterdam for my thirtieth, twenty years ago, whilst enjoying a heavy hit of White Widow. What a happy memory to relive tonight, listening to this masterpiece with some fine herb. Rip dub-originator.
Any hater can hate but seeing lee in concert twice and I’m a kid at 40... from San Diego... he has made a massive difference in reggae and still is going ! Have kindness love and respect in heart the way jah has put him in the earth brothers and sisters.

Lee Scratch Perry a Legendary Icon. Growing up my father used to play lots of Dubs on his Sound System. I love Skanking to my Dubs. Rest in Peace to the Real Upsetter Dub Master.
Rest with the Angel’s, you’ve done the work of a hero, cultivated the sounds of reggae and dub, but ultimately brought joy to millions around the world for decades and will do so for many more.

50 years on this planet, and an oldskool raver, yet I love DUB and Dancehall just as much. Thanks to Rankin Miss P, and John Peel, who introduced me to this wonderful music, in the 80's.

This man is a legend! if Sir Coxam Sound System weren't playing this back in da day 1970s in Brixton, and surrounding areas. You felt the bass in your ribcage if you were outside someones flat let alone inside. Proper good memories .....
I tried running this while doing some work in the Garage... I lasted 5 minutes.. Can't listen to this you'll find yourself working backwards.. or not at all. Mi do it tomorrow...
This is just sublime. The vibes these excellent musicians put forth is....difficult to translate into words. It's just a beautiful vibe that makes life feel worth living...very life-affirming
I COULD LISTEN TO THIS ALL DAY ! AN SO I SHALL ! AS LOUD AS MY TENANCY AGREEMENT WILL ALLOW, HAA AND VERY MUCH LOUDER... JAH RASTERFAHR I LOVE AN PEACE TO ALL MAN WHO IS KIND,,, MONTY
Probly because this is not a real LEE PERRY release. Its bootleggs and dubs not created by Lee himself. LEE PERRY never named songs after himself, so names like Perry in Dub and skanking with Lee perry, point to the fact its not actually him. Hope that helps.

This man is a legend! if Sir Coxam Sound System weren't playing this back in da day 1970s in Brixton, and surrounding areas. You felt the bass in your ribcage if you were outside someones flat let alone inside. Proper good memories .....
Thank you for this beautiful creation.
I tried running this while doing some work in the Garage... I lasted 5 minutes.. Can't listen to this you'll find yourself working backwards.. or not at all.
Mi do it tomorrow...
I overstand..hahahahahaha
I love it when UA-cam recommends me good artists I didn't know about.

I love this, I raved in the late 80's and I loved a skank later on in the night xx
Nice Erica, I know a lot of people that were introduced to Dub by attending post-rave and after-club sessions and parties.
down the blues club no doubt !
Rest in peace my king all your great tunes that stays in your head wow
How can 36 people 'dislike' this? What is there not to like if you like dub?
James Ward maybe they dont like dub (dunno why they wouldnt tho)
Who said they like dub?
makes them irie.
They don't talk English very well (like me) and they wanted to say to us : dis I like. I know . . . it's an old one.
Probly because this is not a real LEE PERRY release. Its bootleggs and dubs not created by Lee himself. LEE PERRY never named songs after himself, so names like Perry in Dub and skanking with Lee perry, point to the fact its not actually him. Hope that helps.
muy grande Lee Perry, años escuchando su musica y no me canso, lo suelo escuchar cuando necesito un poco de paz interior, very very good
I love a good skank. God bless Lee Perry. Mr Lee Perry. Peace and blessings. X
