You know SM is that company who's confident enough with their artists' talents to release a recording behind with all of them
I mean at this point, we can all agree that SM Entertainment artists are some of the most precise when it comes to vocal and rap talent. I mean they try to be perfectionists all the time, and that's what makes me love SM artists a lot. Not that other artists from other companies aren't perfectionists, it's just that SM takes it to an extreme. Even when you think it's perfect, or even when Kangta says it's perfect, the artists are always finding those extra details that we can't recognize and perfecting those. I mean, it's insane.
The trust all professionals have for Mark Lee tho… they always tell him to do whatever he wants, they won’t need to direct him and just let him flex his skill and stuff!

it's amazing how much freedom and how little directing mark is given in recording sessions like this. it just shows that producers trust in his skills enough to let him do things his own way. it's always "do it how you want to do it" when it's him in the booth. and the fact that for this one particularly they let him record the same part as many times as he wanted as if the whole thing was his own recording session and he got everyone's time and attention all to himself??? so cool

So yeah, it could still be him, but from the way it's edited, kangta is probably not there
