10 years later, I keep coming back to this video.
I would give my only child to see EVERY Revocation song broken down like this.....
I would also give your only child to see every Revocation song like this. :)
And to be honest, my own as well. (if I had any... which I don't... thank Jebiz)
out of curiosity, padt 6 years, you know how to play this song now?
@@heavyferrum397 its been 10 years and I still cant play this
Modern thrash can't get any better than this!
Badass riffs and incredible solos = Pure awesomeness!
He makes it look so easy....
Every time I think I found my favourite song by them, I find out they have a better one! I can't believe these guys aren't bigger, they're probably the best new metal band around
my personal favourite is madness opus for years now lol
he went to the church of jeff waters. dave's a beast
I love seeing a Jackson not tuned to absurdly low tunings with passive pickups thrashing out some GREAT modern thrash/death! I love Revocation!
The production/mixing on this album is incredible.
Fucking ferocious riffs
Trying to learn this song at the moment! That solo is finger-cracking but awesome!!
Who would dislike this? I mean even if you don't like the style of music, anyone can see that he has talent. its a fact. It's impossible to not see how talented dave is but to each his own I guess. Also Chaos Of Forms OWNS!
just brilliant...
I fucking love that chirp whammy in the middle of the solo.
looks like much fun and it sounds great!
AWESOME!!!
Mind Blown
That picking is done with insane precision!
Those are some badass riffs right thurrr.
Amazing
Revocation are the new guitar heroes!
David is awesome...player and a guy
I enjoy this band waaaaaaaaaay too much
Sick guitar player, sick tone, sick band, sick new album.
Awesome solo! I miss tasty solos like this in metal(especially Death Metal!) Great clip, thanks guys
Hats off to JamPlay for getting such a modern player to do your stuff. I'm glad he's getting the exposure he deserves and you're getting an awesome player to demo some cool stuff. I know you guys have Tosin Abasi do you guys have Bulb, Jeff Loomis, or any other big metal names demoing stuff?
that solo is wicked!
Sooo Sickkk.
REVOCATION is the SHIT !!!!! love love love this band !!! great upload !!!
0:58 "Maybe I have time to itch my- Oh shit, nope."
They need to release a tab book for each album!!! I want to play these songs so badly!!
I was getting into this guys chops about a month ago, think Kris brought the name up. He's quite a beast. What makes it even sicker is the fact that he sings while pulling all this stuff of. On top he really seems like a nice guy if you watch their "In The Studio" stuff. :)
this is awesome :]
Wow he's good!
bad ass guitar dude
nice!
Actually I think the person who did it is a genius!
It makes it alot easier to see, as a guitarist, what he is played, and being able to tranfer it to your own guitar, as that is almost how you look down on the guitar.
I might have to tab it and have a go!
you do the tab??
His end of fingers are red ! Very good, need to play it :P
i think ill check this band out.......
@kyeruu2 a breakdown is used when a band wants to break apart the verse-chorus-verse sections, it's usually slow and heavy but other punk/punk influenced bands (I.E Thrash is a mix of the new wave of british metal and hardcore punk) like this one, incorporate faster upbeat breakdowns that follow a similar rolling motion, which allows moshing etc. etc. etc.
That part after the solo IS a breakdown, just not the one we're used to listening to by all these -core kiddies trying to be br00t4l.
thats pretty sweet
Saw them live this past monday having never listened to them before and I love them. Dave is also a really cool guy, got to meet him while buying his cd lol.
I kinda like this song wit hjust instrumentals
The solo reminds me of Kill 'em all album :)
So it's kinda epic.
@vermilgates yeah fair enough i guess that makes sense, but for me personally i find it easier watching someone play horizontally reversed. i guess it's because i've always learnt that way from online videos.
I'm gonna do a tab as soon as I'm finished the ones I'm working on
you have the tab man??
At first i thought the up side down view would make it confusing. But im actually able to see the notes he's hitting! :D
This is the best i have ever fucking seen. He works like a machine! Cant believe he didnt set the guitar on fire :D
Good lord, this is some of the most technical riffage i've seen in a long time.
Tarkess Cretin is harder to play though. I can manage Maniacally Unleashed, but Cretin always gives me trouble :)
Yeah I'm a huge Merrow/Loomis fan :D
try Fields of Predation D:
Yeah this dude went to fucking Berkeley, so his shit is fucking technically sound/on fucking point fersure. Dude shreds fo sho. Can play a lot of different styles. In fact id say he's in ghe mastery stage of the instrument as far as theoretical knowledge/ability
@sidhhhesh
I agree, a friend of mine said the same thing after the show. Plus Eluvietie called for a wall of death...cant beat a wall of death lol.
@ixsetf
Did You finish it? cause it is difficult to get all of it, and it looks like a lot of fun to play
@ixsetf sure you can, you can totally mosh to that shit right after the mini-drum solo during the first half of the harmonic
the stressed beats would be the harmonics after the first set of fills.
@ixsetf
Thank you. If you get a chance to write the rest down let me know.
Myspace, god damn.
@DeathMetalTim32 its because thats how you see it when YOU play your guitar
dat warrior....hot damn.
2:47 and the Annihilator influences pops up ) Awesome!
Your ultimate nightmare, welcome to the Fun Palace!
@VincentW so what do you need to look at the fretboard for?
he needs to be my guitar teacher...
2:47 is SO annihilator =D
Fun Palace.
fitting as he has referenced waters as one of his big influences
epic riffage is epic.
This is some heavy shit!
@JamPlayDotCom Could you tell me which songs are available from Revocation so I can judge if the money is worth it? Thanks
holy shit, dat solo
je valide
was this recorded in Australia?
Holly fuck, eargasm :D
Davidson is god or something like that... just amazing
This is great. Very Jeff Waters-y. :P
trying to get it down, I got the first couple of riffs, but it's hard to see the transition from the tremolo picking and so forth. first 10 seconds and I'm having trouble
this is great and all, but why is the main shot of the neck upside down? :S
Tuning is Eb.
You're welcome folks.
by which soft u edit ur video tel plz
@lvsexgtr sounds like D standard or drop C either one i think
It was Jeff Waters soul between 2:47 to 3:47 hahaha cool!
No I made the same resemblance too
I get old Metallica, Megadeth, Carcass, and numerous other legit old school good vibes of fucking death and thrash with Revocation. Dudes are fucking awesome man, really.
big band is coming
you have the dude "playing the tab" man!
One thing I never understood..why are the fretboard views always upside down? Is it supposed to relate to the tabs more, or something?
Pls go.
Foda!
@Neil263 Left handed?
What's the song playing in the background when Dave is talking?
Re-animaniac
Hey man, could i get that tab?
whats this tuned to
@ixsetf ........no, that's not a riff.....
the intro that's repeated in the solo, that's a riff....
that part is a breakdown.
Wow Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! \m/
what's the tuning for this?
Check out Jam Play... or they'll kill me... XD
@ixsetf after the second solo, those harmonics harmony notes?
Yeah, that's a breakdown.
a breakdown doesn't always have to be smashing an open string and screaming lol..
Oh, and the tabs are TuxGuitar- files! No solos though yet...
@VegasPoker because when you learn you look at your neck like that
@Randomnameezz Doesn't look like it. Would it matter though?
they were awesome ......... i felt that they and Eluvietie were much tighter than COB ......
2:52 almost like fun palace by annihilator......
I dunno I've been playing for about 4 years and I'm struggling to follow at full speed.
tunning for this?
damn.........
its all just shot in crazy high fps it looks crazy then it really is, its just so you can still see his pick and what strings he is hitting. normal frames everything looks really blurry. this guy does all this shit live ive seen it with my balls of vision.
