I used to watch budgeting videos but I stopped because everyone of them have an etsy shop and/or Amazon shop. They all try to teach you to control your impulsive spending but in the next breath try to sell you stuff.

I get your point, I thought the same, but then thought, they need to make a living just like you & me & sometimes they are linking items that can actually go hand in hand with saving money and can save you money in the long run , example of this, are glass storage tubs for meal prep & batch cooking- total game changer for me x

Just a little feedback for you. Many of us who make videos have a business. It’s not just a hobby and it’s how we pay our bills and feed our families. We create budgeting tools like ebooks, planners, and spreadsheets in the hope that these tools will help you reach your goals faster. For me, I’m a financial coach and what brings me joy and purpose is to serve people like you - my calling in life is to teach and be of help. I’ve found a way to do what I love and still earn a living from it. It’s the greatest gift of fulfillment I’ve ever experienced. And it’s ok to get paid for providing a service - just like the person who cuts your hair or cleans your teeth. I love that you are watching and enjoying my free content and would never expect you to buy my Debt Freedom ebook or Dinner Makeover Takeover meal planning kit but I created these things to help viewers save more money.

Amen! I hate that. Or they invite you to a free workshop to sell you the real info. The free workshops are infomercials. I understand these are businesses. Maybe do a micro session for a smaller fee and start out with that to share meaningful info instead of trying to “hook you.” By the way, I love frozen pennies because the videos share valuable info. Thank you, Sara!

Thank you for such a spot on video! I agree, perspective is everything. I love that you mentioned being resourceful. A while back when I shared my frugal journey with my sister, she said I was the most resourceful person she knew. I was shocked and touched, and I thought, I am resourceful. It was such an empowering moment. I’m here to learn from all of the other resourceful women in this community!❤

I've lived like this all my life, as a single mum I've had to. I've managed to buy my own home, take the kids on holidays when they were little, so we didn't go without. I didn't buy a car as I thought they cost too much to buy and run, it was the best decision I ever made!!!

Taking control and setting goals, having a plan gives you peace. When things threaten you can confidently remind yourself, ‘I’m ok. I have a plan and it’s a good, well thought out one.’.

I was so glad to hear that Pepsico company actually lost money this term. A little saddened by it also, people are no longer able to afford chips and soda which is better for their health. It also however, says to me, that more people are looking at the budget and cutting down on trash food. We are having to tighten our belts literally. Walmart and Aldi both complained of lower sales this year, then temporarily dropped their prices, only to come back with them much higher. People are learning not to buy brand names, and to stretch those food supplies. There are many nights that I tell my husband it's not great it's just food eat it. While the government is telling us that inflation is going down it is not going down where consumer's need it to. It is only going to get worse until the election is over. All of these "budget" video's say the same thing, it is crunch time, it is not time to buy anything you don't absolutely need. Good lord do we have to praise Amazon? There a terrible company find out why India wants Amazon and Bill Gates out of their country.
