Matt that was the very question I've had for a long time. Unfortunately, I still didn't understand.

You are right about Yod Hay Waw Shin Waw Ayin(YaHuWSHuWa). A somali offered me a koran and I told him I have the truth in my heart and rejected his offer. So he said " I told you what I believe, so you tell me what you believe." And I told him about The Father YaHuWaH and Son, YaHuSHuWa and when he repeated YaHuSHuWa, we heard a loud ovation and he even said it was angels and we saw a horizontal rainbow and a cardinal was flying across it and we both said it was a miracle. But he is still muslim. Even though the LOUD CLAPPING OVATION happened when the muslim somali said YaHuWSHuWa.
No one was around us when the loud ovation happened and he was looking behind me and I was looking behind him to see where the ovation came from because the sound of the ovation surrounded us and my heart was pounding in fear like what just happened?

Because he offers bread and wine as does Jesus.

Hi Matt, Melchizedek used to offer bread and wine whereas Aaron and others offered sacrifices. Jesus reinstituted his priesthood on the order of Melchizedek as an indication to the Eucharist, the Bread abd wine that is his body and blood and soul and divinity

The first mention of Mel is Shem. : )
    Thankfully that was talked about.

    WOW, THAT WAS CONFUSING !!!
The similarity is that neither received their priesthood from their fore father, but rather directly from God.
In teaching college students, I understood that a teacher's job is "to make the complex simple".

As far as I understand it, there were different offices. Priests could not be kings and kings could not be priests. Also priests in the OT were only Levites. Jesus obviously came from Judah. We are not given any genealogy about melcheizadek, which alludes to a pre-existence. Levitical priests performed thousands of sacrifices that could never take away sins, but Jesus' final sacrifice washes away all our sins completely. All that to say....Jesus is our pre-existent, priest-King, who presides over a new and better covenant. See Hebrews chapter 7.

@@IlovetheTruth Right, Melchizedek and Jesus Christ are the only King & Priest of the bible. Jesus wasnt a levitical priest but a priest from the order of melchizedek.

@@Schöpf_at I am sure he did have parents, but that isn't the point. He is given to us as an example of a king/priest that appears to live forever. His genealogy isn't given. The time of his birth and death isn't given. He is a picture for us. But the true substance, the true eternal priest/king is Jesus.

I’ve heard people claim Melchizedek is Jesus mainly Protestants and they worship Melchizedek as God (Jesus).

Bro I've never heard that. I've heard that some believe Melchizedek is a pre incarnate Jesus. But to say they worship him as God is wrong. Because it's just a speculation. For me, I think Melchizedek is either a pre incarnate Jesus or just a foreshadow of Christ

@@garyboulton7524 yeah I have never heard of anyone elevating Melchiezadek to that kind of level, so as to worship him! We are told he in Hebrews that Abraham paid him the tithe, that this priest blessed Abraham, Hebrews 7:7 says "And without doubt the lesser is blessed by the greater."
