Who am I?
Expert singing teacher, specialising in teaching children and young adults in singing and musical theatre. She has worked with the likes of The Saturdays for MTV, on shows such as Just the Two of Us for the BBC and many more. Throughout her years of teaching she has judged in many competitions, judging Lucy Spraggan, George Samson, amongst others who have gone onto succeed in the business.
I am the founder of Vocaltutor, (founded 2003) the UK’s largest vocal and singing tuition network and now The New Foundry Studios which opened in 2013.
I have worked with BBCTV on Just the Two of Us, with many celebrities including Natasha Hamilton of Atomic Kitten, plus has worked for ITV on many children’s TV programmes including The Worst Witch, as their vocal coach.

@@grandeflamesbutera3949 yeah! I think: She has no real idea of how the two sing, it was probably as Bebe sung live and I like them both. I don't think you can just judge through an outdated live battle video whether the voices are good and whether it was live or not. Also Dua and Bebe don't sing, with Autotune at a concert or fake it sometimes. There are moments when I don't feel like singing either, but when live then it will be live!
Bebe Rexha has a unique tone and thats why i like her from the moment i heard her singing. and her head voice omg.

Bebe rexha has a very unique tone and that's the way she sings. Her head voice is phenomenal 😍. And also the video you reacted to is old both singers have made process vocally

This video came out in 2019, and these performances were by 2016 and 2017. You should of did it with new live performances
this video was not the best example of their vocals cause i seen better vocal performance than this from both of these artist who told you to react to this

Also I think it’s good to note that these singers most likely know what they’re doing when they sing. Everything now is all about being yourself and finding your own sound, and forgetting about trying to sound perfect to every ear listening ❤️

By fake she means adding a vocal effect on her voice which she does do.
No one cares but since someone gave my comment a thumbs up, I'd like to clarify that I meant to say Bebe uses an aggressively amplified style while singing which sounds fake or that she's trying too hard. It's one thing to add a flare to your voice to avoid sounding basic, and another thing to over do it. K, bye. ✌🏼

neither are particularly good bc they not only lack a good technical skill, but they also just fail to create simple dynamics in their singing. they struggle with lows, clumsiness in their mid ranges, neither have good belting technique. Bebe's only somewhat developed skill is mixing

Dua Lipa has done some incredible covers recently. I think she just needed time to find her voice but it's getting much better over time.

I’m by no means a vocal coach, but I do think the choice of clips really did it. They showed a lot of professionally recorded clips of Bebe whereas jn the beginning , they only used bad quality videos of Dua.
I don’t really think you can compare 2 people if the quality of the videos is not alike.
This is obviously no criticism towards you but more something I noticed. Apart from that, I really enjoy your videos!
Bebe Rexha tries too hard to sound "unique" by changing her voice too much and it does sound fake. Look how different she sounds in "If it's meant to be." It barely sounds like the same person. I think that's probably more her natural voice.
Emily Dempsey first of all she doesn’t try to hard she doesn’t care that’s just what Rexhars say second it’s not “if it’s meant to be” it’s just “meant to be” and thirdly she sounds different Bc in the music videos she has auto toon so get with the vibe so don’t say things unless u have it faceted up Bc I promise you there will be someone there to prove you wrong🙃
And by her trying so hard her voice is tortured because of it

Bebe is a great vocalist she just has a very unique voice and style that a lot of people won’t like but I love her style and voice it just depends on preference , maybe it’s not technically perfect but I still like her music and she’s a incredible song writer

It feels very biased in disliking Bebe's style of singing. The way she sings is unique, its not "fake". That's how she sings. Most singers also PICK a style of singing and train to sound that way. Its like someone who trains their voice, their tone and accent to sing reggae. Thats her style and it sounds amazing.

No she doesn’t. It’s a pseudo-accent. Tone and accent are entirely different. She’s doing the typical indie-girl accent and she overdoes it so much that it’s annoying. Her tone is very nasally, which is natural, but that “accent” is not derivative of any language or vernacular or her culture. It’s just fake and cringe.

For some reason the industry is looking for "special" voices (that all sound kinda the same, btw) and don't reallt care about being good live because they can relly on editing. It's all those fake, baby voice, high placed voices that should make them unique, and I'm really not loving it. There are great singers out there - let them sing!

Georgina I think there are several types of voices and not all the voices of women are going to sound the same, I also want to say that the presentations that you chose are old, now Dua and Bebe have perfected their voice and there are very good presentations.
Bebe Rexha slays in her old acoustic days. But she’s really more of an acquired taste to say the least. Her voice is really like that, raspy and heady, almost a falsetto.

Dua sounds like you're singing a song without never separate your teeth and getting more nasal when you go to highs.
Bebe sounds like you're singing a song by pronouncing every word, opening your mouth wide, and letting your cheeks sag too loose when you say the "b's."
I get the feeling that bebe hits more notes, even when not at her best. Dua sounds like a drunk half the time.
