God's goals and lessons along the way in our learning experiences and walk, are higher than our own, for we always fall short being mortal and finite, yet God in His grace and mercy already knows that and brings it to life in us. God is so amazingly good.

2 Corinthians 12: 1-10 My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Amen

Amen ! Thank-YOU JESUS ! >> For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. - Titus 2:11-15 Hallelujah !

I try to put myself inside the Scripture you describe, close our eyes imagine as if we were there, what would we think, what would we say, what would we do, if given the chance, the situation, the circumstance. How you illustrate the ABSOLUTELY STUNNING and INCREDIBLE victory the Lord had just brought them thru crossing the (impossible/improbable) Red Sea, while their envious, jealous, and constant slave task-masters were drowned at sea, like our sins, to be no more. Another amazing thing to ponder, our sins are in the sea of forgetfulness, to be remembered as the Egyptians no more. So even though 72 hours had passed, it is hard to "imagine" any one person would have already forgotten the wonder and works of the Lord. Sure I guess after "hot desert - I live in Phoenix where we all know it gets blistering hot - street temps, in the summer reach 135-140 and if they told people that, no one would be here" so it is not hard to imagine looking to themselves and becoming thirsty, they could indeed grumble. Yet they did not consider Moses knew God, who has shown them great grace and mercy already. Often the water He gave them, was much like then the water of life Jesus gives us. That the initial finding was bitter, is not a surprise, to remind them of their pain and suffering, which is played out in the seder of Passover w herbs ... yet the Lord uses a tree - much like the garden, which was not cursed (thorns and thistles) until Adam made a few bad choices, not just one that the trees and earth began to suffer decay and corruption. I am reminded by Rabbi Sobel how great even this curse was reversed by Jesus with His crown of thorns. Jesus turns everything bitter to "sweet" when we learn to trust, obey and believe in Him. Such an interesting parallel each day you bring us, it may say 4 minutes, but if one digs and stays with it, the teaching is much more in-depth. Our pastors do a provocative episode each week, I tell them a 20-minute presentation may have about 2 or 3 hours to thoroughly unpack, realize and, digest. Amazing the Word of God keeps feeding us that way.

Mara - sin is a very bitter experience, even if it was a temporal pleasant experience. That God uses our failures, tossing the tree (a reminder of the sin of our earth parents Adam/Eve) into the waters, (cleansing) to forgive, wash, and forget our sins .... reminds us - life anew, life afresh, lived for the Lord Jesus, is a sweet experience. Not that there will not be challenges, but it will be something we will willingly want to do.

How great and gracious is our God to be merciful to those delivered from Egpyt, much like he delivers us from the toxicity of sin. Thankfully the Lord sent some people like you and Jamie Buckingham to think this out, and provide us some "insights" we would not have come up with on our own, if we just (run of the mill, go thru the rote motions) of reading without "reaping" each day. With you and a few others, we come up with incredible treasures from the Word. Taste and see how good the Lord is, thank you for sharing this so faithfully as you do. It is so needed for a sick and dying world. Faith! Hope and Love! This is what walking with the Lord is all about when one begins to journey and come to know Him. Did not our hearts burn as he walked with us, and shared the word said the disciples on the way to Emmaus as we should after such daily encounters?

Amen, 400 years can be a lot of bad learned habits, not easy to break. Yet God cares for them/us physically but more importantly mentally and spiritually. Just removing the elements was not enough, the people of Israel needed to learn - there was no one greater than the Lord "their" God, not the fake and many gods of the heathen Egyptians and following races prone to folly.

So amazed as manna David comes thru with the Word on cue each day, thank you for your serving to us so faithfully my friend. This is an element that though many churches are busy with activity, often misses the days of the disciples and Jesus, where they just didn't go to synagogue for a once-a-week time to hear and render the Word, they went daily. Daily teaching and open doors of the church are so needed for a backslidden people of many generations.
