Congratulations Tola, this was my very first job, years ago and was so greatful, I choose night shift because I wanted to pursue my studies during the day. Was a 7days in, 7days out, Is not a difficult job but just paying attention, just gets busy around super/dinner, change, medicine times then from there they sleep. Some nights are hectic but some nights are ok. It needs someone with a big heart and empathetic towards the elderly (mine was the elderly Health Care Assistance). Yes the challenges is when the reliever comes late cos you can't leave before you are relieved.

Hi @Tola Lusi, thanks for this video,it's so inspiring. Could you please suggest schools that one can do a one year course in healthcare outside London for international students? Say someone from Nigeria. Something not expensive.
@@HistoryActivated I don't know the definitive answer to that, but I do know that my sister in law worked as a domicilary or daily care assistant when she first came to the UK before she went on to become a qualified nurse some years later. She was only 18 and she more or less learnt on the job with the agency and largely, it must be said, other carers, providing training. That was about ten years ago. I also know that some agencies who place live in carers train the carers prior to taking them on the books such as Corinium Care. You may want to throw open your question in the general comments in case there is a care home carer amongst the viewers or check some job ads to see what they say, they will usually specify if they offer on the job training.
