- Oreo is with me for about 3 years. He was fully heathy and used to fly. He was always outside of his cage with me. One year ago, suddenly his feathers looked sick and he lost his feathers. They always grow but before they fully grown, he is losing them again and again. Now he can't fly for almost a year. I searched it and it was french molt disease. I tried all the vets but no solution. He is still happy but when I see him can't fly, I get upset... But there is nothing I can do...

I’m sad to hear Oreo is still sick, I remember you mentioned it awhile ago but I didn’t know the details. It’s unfortunate about the flying, but as you said he’s still a happy boy and he is probably happy partly because he has a good family who gives him lots of love and attention. He’s such a cutie. I hope he gets over it.

Hes still a lucky Birb. He has and owner who loves and cares for him. In the wild, he would be long gone. God bless.
I love my cockatiel but she is 3 & I am 68 so I’m afraid what will happen to her when I die! I rescued her from family who didn’t treat her right so I took her from tiny cage prison and she is a free flight bird along with my parakeets! Big Cages by the window but never locked! Freedom to fly anywhere in the back room! She flies all around the big room with 12’ ceiling! When I am finished on this earth I hope she is not locked up again!

Even my parrot is losing his feathers before they grow i tired one way that is talking to him every day and i started noticing that the feathers are growing back so you can try this way ❤
I am 67 too and have 7 rescue cockatiels.I trust God to deliver them when I go.I have just lost 2 babies not but a year old.I think t h ey got into something cuz they have aviary with freedom.I Plead the Blood of Jesus over them.the first had passed when I found him the other we raced to the vet on memorial day can u imagine?he died in my arms.Ive never been so heartsick.now I know how moms feel with baby that has a crib death.its not fair.never been angry at God but I am now yet u will not forsake.my fault for not checking EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE HAZARD!!!even so things still happen.its not Oreo fault or yours.I agree with the one who said talk to him a lor.love is best medicine and all you can give.my 18 yr.old couldn't fly near the end but he loved and cheerful always.losing your animal bab t is far tougher than a human.we know what's ahead but they dont.just love him!!!I will pray for you both how well I know this.Jesus was a Man of sorrows and well acquainted with grief says the Bible.love to you both!
