    I had one a few years ago when working in chIna. Great little bikes although way overpriced here in the uk, I paid the equivalent of £1k over there brand new off the dealer, with gps chip and all the fruit, it kills me that this country can’t seem to come to the table when it comes to affordable transport., could moan about it for ever but while in the uk I’ll stick to my Petrol motorcycle 🤷‍♂️. Thanks!!

    SuperSoco came close to the point where I would buy one of their bikes. The bike needs to be able to maintain 112km/h/70mph and have 100mile/160klm range for me. Happy if it costs a few grand more . . .

    I also like better to have both brakes in the handlebars. You should also try the NIU Mqi GT i spotted in the video. Its bigger than its siblings, designed for the European body types.

    I think supersoco are just shy of a legitimate 125cc replacement. It's more the performance of a 90 or 100cc. Add another kWh on battery and a couple KW peak power and then that should do it. Also make the bike a little bigger and it would sell like hotcakes. The geometry is too small for 6 foot plus guys. A 100kg guy makes it look like a toy bike.

      I think that’s a spot on analogy. I can see why they are sticking to the smaller bikes, it’s a different market with different expectations and as soon as your making a real 125 equivalent, you have a lot of good competition.

    i wonder if there is an option for a bigger battery right off the go. like, without having to go to a third party for it but rather getting the bike from the dealership with the bigger battery right at the momment you buy it.

    • @jameshunter2993
      @jameshunter2993 2 місяці тому

      Yes but if you buy an extra battery for say Maeving you are looking at a grand.

    • @Shiroikage84
      @Shiroikage84 2 місяці тому

      @@jameshunter2993 yes but I am not looking to buy an "extra one" but rather ask, whether or not the dealer can sell the bike with a bigger one, right from the get go.

      the great thing about EVs is that you don't have to worry about engine failure, the battery is the weakest point and competing chemistries and innovaiton the price of batteries has plunged and will continue to do so in the future
      if you take care of the battery, ie maintain charge between 20 - 80% it's likely to last a decade with reasonable use by which time far superior batteries will be much cheaper and offer more density
      since these batteries are user replaceable there is likely to be a market for upgrade cheap batteries in the future - dependent on market adoption and longevity of the vehicles

    This design with 5kw battery would have been awesome. and 1hour charge,

    • @elduderino7767
      @elduderino7767 7 днів тому

      well with the battery chemistry you'd want to keep charge between 20 - 80%
      these now come with a more powerful charger which reduces charge time to 5hrs, but realistically if you are charging from 20 to 80%, as you should, it's likely to finish within a couple of hours

    my issue with e bikes are that cars cant hear you coming, my current bike. sounds like a harley ( it was my intension) now cars dont have a choice but to hear me coming, thats so important being as vulnerable as we are on bikes. i like the eco thing and all that, but sorry my safety needs to come first. Nice looking bike though.

      thats the only lingering concern i have - although i haven't actually verified loud pipes save lives, even if it's logical i haven't looked for the data to back it up, time to fix that.

    Range,range,range. Recharge times electricity costs. How long does the battery last how much does a replacement cost. If it's like a mobile phone after a while you have to charge everyday. What is the re-sale value with a used battery. Low performance figures ie. Fat guy on a bike in a hilly area range and performance down......NO E bikes still in their infancy maybe 10 years time when battery technology improves, but give me a ICE bike any day.

      mobile phone batteries degrade fast because of heat, we're happy with the compromise to keep them small
      comparing the rate of degradation between mobile phones and evs is a mistake
      that being said if you need more than 60km of range daily then this bike wouldn't be a viable option as to preserve batter you want to maintain charge between 20-80% and don't want the hassle of charging twice a day, a 60km daily range will keep you well within the optimal charge routine while offering plenty of excess charge for degradation over a decade
