I have been waiting for someone to make a guide on new knight, I'm so glad I found this video and I hope it blows up more because this is very well made, especially for your first video. i've mained the knights for some time , and i tought i knew almolst everything abt him, but still i learned some new things , on how to counter and how to prevent him being countered from this video. Very good job!

Also found out Dried Horsemeat’s +4s effect does not extend the time it takes for the Standard to spawn; it’s just (guard’s hunt duration * path length multiplier) + 4s. Thank you to Mate8 for testing it with me :D

Very good guide ! Actually i really like the Town's Watch Torch. Even with the loud footsteps, it can avoid a lot of "prerunning" on the survivor side, leading to inevitable hits when they can't get to safety quickly.
@@StoneOfChaos7 yeah I’ve been using Torch myself and it’s actually been better than I expected, I’d place it in the same level or just under Horsemeat now!

As an addition to the unhooking rule, you DO NOT have to fully unhook the survivor, just tapping them is fine if unhooking would be unsafe for whatever reason.
I’ve gotten a fair amount of value out of the Tattered Tabard add-on in my matches. The extra patrol time can catch some Survivors off guard, and it makes the Jailer incredibly good at wide-scale area denial and in the 1v1 after closing Hatch (you can put him at a door and pretty much lock it down for 32-44 seconds, meaning you only need to use him 2-3 times to basically guarantee the remaining Survivor dies to the Collapse). I would say in terms of add-ons it’s in B-tier. One of those add-ons that sounds bad on paper but can do surprising things in execution.

Just got knight tonight and he's going to be my main, feels really fun in Lower skill matches. Forced a long match due to last 3 gens being in patrol distance from between them all felt nice when survivors gave up and came to me so kill them to end it
Try adding the pig observation perk. A very useful perk allows you to know which generator the survivors are repairing. To send a guard there. Also main knight. I learned a lot of useful things in your guide, thank you
Very informative video but for the map tier list I don’t think there is any killer who is gonna say Yay if they get Badham like that map needs is own tier😂

I redownloaded recently after not playing for over a year. So I didn't know about the Knights rework. I always had interest in Knight as I love the design and I like area denial type killers. Watching this, I see basically every gripe I had about killer before is gone, and I might actually even main him as there seems to be some real capability for skill expression with the killer now.
@@iceweaver9283 Yeah, he recently had a rework about 2-3 weeks ago which gave him a lot of QoL changes, making him more fun to play as/against! He always had some degree of skill expression, but I’d say the skill floor and ceiling have definitely increased now. I’m glad to know that this made you want to possibly main him! ☺️
@@Resoleonn I just played a game with Knight and it was so much fun. I tried using stuff you mentioned, managed to get one insta break off which gave me the second kill of the game. Definitely a good guide and Knight is definitely fun enough for me to consider as one of my potential mains now! (Sadako is probably still my favourite tho)

Thanks for the video! Two points of interest: One is that low lvl players will not often try to grab the banner, they would rather ran away, I noticed that after a few couple of games that the Sharpened Mount was not really helping much. The second one is, could you make a perk build that does not include licensed killers? I can farm hag perks all day long but cenobite? Expensive for my country :(
@@kr4ftt all good, glad you liked it! And yeah I’ve had the same experience; most players would just hold W instead of trying to get the banner so I haven’t found Mount to be useful at all. For non-licensed builds, I’d probably go with something like Corrupt, Pain Res, Dead Man’s Switch and No Way Out, Spies or Infectious. I recommend also getting Surge if it’s in the Shrine! It’s also good to experiment with perks you’d like to use, since everyone has a different playstyle (e.g. I don’t like running hex builds, but others might) so I encourage you to try things out :)
Call to arms should have been basekit. If the devs want to take away his guard drops and claim hes designed to play the distance then increase his path length and speed

Sadly This video really helps to show all the knights' strengths and weaknesses and how exploitable guards are on their own (i.e., survivors can indefinitely avoid getting hit by guards) Do you feel like the 3x hunt depletion is too much ? How about patrol length doesn't it feel way too short if they are trying to get a knight to work father away from the knight? What are your hopes for the knight going forward? Any changes you would like to see going forward ?

I do think the 3x depletion is a bit much, I get that they’re trying to improve his counterplay/getting 2-tapped but 1.5x or 2x would have been better in my opinion. I think the current patrol numbers are fine, except Call to Arms basekit would have been really nice to have. I’m happy with knight as he currently is, only I wish they would fix all his bugs (pallet stun in power, footsteps while summoning, guards not working etc)
@Resoleonn see im glad someone understands The only reason i say patrol is to short is how much the survivors play split up like they should meaning you have to be in two places and trying to walk to one get a guard on a hunt then trying to go for another survivor is well not ideal. That and the 3x really makes it seem like guards are supposed to be on the other side of the map, then the knight And i understand needing the bug fixes. Nothing is more irritating than a guard stuck on something. Most of the time, you can't see if and when they are stuck unless you're close by to fix the situation Plz post more knight videos on yt thier isnt enough at all
Heyo! Coming back here just to tank you again, knight is my main now haha, see what you did to people!? Are you happy now?😂😂 Joke aside, I have adhd so to keep plying the same killer for me is basically a pain, expect, well, the knight. Since I don't have allot of map knowledge and awerness, I've been using tinkerer and discordance to find my targets, and corrupt intervention to push them for me, the last one is mindbreaker. I asked some survivor streamers that I've played against if mindbreaker was useful and they hated it haha, at least in copper/silver leagues. Anyway, thank you again so much, for the first time in my dbd life I'm having actual real fun, all thanks to you
ok i was not expecting a calm voice/music about a killer who kills people with swords'n sh*t xD I need a minute to adjust. It's not bad actually, just unexpected

Every time i try to send a guard it eitger get no body or didnt even spot the survivor even tho i try to track people with sound sad i dont like the fact you have to protect the banner , i have yet to see the guard able to hit people once without me go around or semi near the guard during chase to force them turn around and eat the guard hit
@@sashapinesnguyenhienhoa8003 There’s currently a bug where guards give off knight’s loud footsteps so that’d make spotting a survivor harder; I’ve found more success leaving the guard to chase a survivor while doing something else like protecting gens or chasing someone else
I've heard that STBFL doesnt lose stacks on guard hits, but i dont have the bloodpoints yet to try. Have you given it a try? Id love to know if it works
Can you further explain how to counter the Knight when it comes to double-tapping? I'm struggling to go against him + drain the power when the Jailer gives him more than enough time to get the 2-tap and I can't do anything about it
@@eldoony If you can’t outrun the Jailer and you’re about to get 2-tapped, try to aim to get hit by only one of them by running into them (preferably the Knight so he has to slow down). If they’re going to hit you from the same direction and you can’t drain the power in time, there’s not much you can do unfortunately
@Resoleonn That doesn't really sound fun but if that's the counterplay then fair enough lmaoo, I guess it's really map dependent cuz if you run into knight and take the speed boost then it's down to if you reach a tile / get into a deadzone
@@eldoony yeah, you should rarely get into that situation though. A max-length Jailer is avoidable if you can hide behind something, and usually he can’t catch up to you if you use windows/pallets to slow him down. Unless you’re in a complete deadzone, 2-tapping with Jailer should be extremely uncommon :0
@@sakatagintoki6438 it doesn’t; anything that would rely on a 26m+ path doesn’t get further benefits if you use Call to Arms so there’s no difference :)

I just cant get used to the rework he feels awfull in small maps thanks to the overnerfed changes (mainly 10m spawn and 3x depletion) just remove these 2 things and hes fine.
@@xdgamer0189 yeah chasing in small maps feels bad after the rework; if I don’t think I can get a hit with a guard or myself I’ll usually just get a guard to chase the surv while I go somewhere else. Really wish the 3x depletion wasn’t as harsh though
he has quite a lot to learn at the start, but in my opinion after learning how he works, he isn't too hard to get the hang of! i'd rate his difficulty at around a 6/10 tbh :)

I don't know about PC, But on mobile version they even hit the survivors that are on the ground or even the survivors you are carrying@@Resoleonn

If they’re going to hit you from the same direction and you can’t drain the power in time, there’s not much you can do unfortunately
@Resoleonn That doesn't really sound fun but if that's the counterplay then fair enough lmaoo, I guess it's really map dependent cuz if you run into knight and take the speed boost then it's down to if you reach a tile / get into a deadzone
@@eldoony yeah, you should rarely get into that situation though. A max-length Jailer is avoidable if you can hide behind something, and usually he can’t catch up to you if you use windows/pallets to slow him down. Unless you’re in a complete deadzone, 2-tapping with Jailer should be extremely uncommon :0

does the add on "call to arms" mess with the 26m guard requirement?
@@sakatagintoki6438 it doesn’t; anything that would rely on a 26m+ path doesn’t get further benefits if you use Call to Arms so there’s no difference :)

@@mikemac1298 yeah unfortunately i couldn’t really do much about the audio; i use a cheap mic and had to record everything multiple times to not get background noise 🥲 glad you liked the guide though!
I just cant get used to the rework he feels awfull in small maps thanks to the overnerfed changes (mainly 10m spawn and 3x depletion) just remove these 2 things and hes fine.
@@xdgamer0189 yeah chasing in small maps feels bad after the rework; if I don’t think I can get a hit with a guard or myself I’ll usually just get a guard to chase the surv while I go somewhere else. Really wish the 3x depletion wasn’t as harsh though
seems like knight is very complicated
he has quite a lot to learn at the start, but in my opinion after learning how he works, he isn't too hard to get the hang of! i'd rate his difficulty at around a 6/10 tbh :)
