Fun foils in performance sizes seem to be the new hot thing. I only ride my own designs but since doing my own one a little like this early this year I'm seeing a lot of manufacturers working this end of the market. It's terrific when you can combine glide, good max speed, low stall speed and good turning all in one foil.
Great video 🤙 I didn't understand the fact you mentioned about overpowered you need to change early foil. Is it possible to elaborate more on overpowered situations using those foils? Thank you.
Yes, no probs - we felt that the foils became harder to use at the top of their speed range ( when the wind was higher) so feel its best to drop a foil size earlier with these foils. Hope that clarifies? Will - SUPboarder
@@constantinosdrakakis897 we just found it a little harder to control at top speeds when well powered than other foils. The power delivery becomes less smooth and more peaky. It's a compromise we feel that foils of this category have to make to perform well in other areas. Regards, Will - SUPboarder
I wish that they highlighted "More" that these differences are so small that 90% of all wingfoilers will not notice. I started on the first Naish many years ago, and have moved to 2024 Fanatic Board 65ltr ( my weight is 87kg) and using 8m (Aluula) and Unit 6m 2024, Slick 4m 2021. Have had some in between first and current. I have a few hundreds of hours out on the water, and to be honest. For a weekend warrior wingfoiler, there is very little (real) difference Naish 4-5 years ago, and today. On the paper and teck spec. the difference is massive. But not in just cruising back & forward, doing some 360, various gybes and tacks. So for any beginner out there, looking to buy. Go for the chepaest you can find, and keep for at least the first 40-50 hours!! Dont listen to buy some mid range 1250-1500 foils. I started on a 2000 Naish and 1550 foil. Almost zero difference in turing and lift performance. Only on the paper! Go as big as you can find. Board (flat water & bump/Jump) around +20ltr. This sport is best ever, but dont buyu in to the differences between one and another. This only applies to the ones who go out +10-15 hours a week!!
Its crazy fast for its uses. You wont win races with it (maybe smaller ones), but you can clock around 31 knots on it in perfect conditions. I've ridden the 850 and its really fast and has crazy pop

@@SUPboardermag thank you for your clarification. So in what sense it was harder to use at the top of their speed range ?

According to Duotone the carve 2.0 is their fastest wing!
