A bunch of people didn’t like the idea that Superman saying “Martha” stopped Batman from killing him. But if you remember the first scene, his father lying, covered in blood and his last words are “Martha”. It doesn’t have to do with both their moms being named Martha, it’s because he was about to kill a man and Batman asks if he has any last words a Superman says “Martha! You’re letting them kill Martha!” It brought Batman back to his senses and made him realize that he had dropped to his enemies level by trying to kill a good man that he didn’t understand. It made him realize that if he killed Superman, he was no better than the man who killed his parents
Furthermore... the movie set it up from the beginning. Every Batman movie, Bruce's trauma at his parent's death focused mainly on his father, especially in Batman Forever and Batman Begins. In BvS, they focused on his mother, Martha. So when Superman said "you're making them kill Martha"... It automatically clicked for me
@@DevinGtv901 definitely! Lol for some reason a lot of people couldn’t read into it better and thought they meant “oh both our mom’s names are Martha! Let’s be friends and stop trying to kill each other!” But no 😂 Zack Snyder put a lot of thought into the emotional and political realities of these characters. It’s a shame people didn’t like these as much as the mostly campier Marvel movies. You guys have to stop being surprised by seeing Batman fighting Superman, you have to see them as equals, both are dangerous in their own ways, and in the comics Batman is capable of doing a lot and defeating Superman was one of them.
Agree and besides in the beginning yes Superman was saving earth but there is a lot of death and destruction and millions of dollars to repair everything. The only thing I'm mad about is that Superman says that Batman is not needed so if someone shines his light Superman say don't go to it I hate that because Batman have done a lot to save earth to and he was a hero in Gotham before an alien Superman came to earth
@TakakiM-sr1df that's one of the main reasons why batman in this is mad at superman. Mostly out of ignorance but he's going around causing all this damage, and causing innocent deaths. So, going off that storyline, the creators, writers need to create drama, need a reason for superman to fight him.. so batman needs to be unsavory. For this storyline batman has become a world weary, bitter version of himself. He is a darker, more.."evil" version.. and he needs to "come back to the light" I don't think that means that he wasn't once seen as a savior but of course for this story he needed to have an arc. Go from being gone bad to being redeemed by seeing the goodness in superman and that he was there for good. It serves the story.
Thing is that marvel and DC have become popular enough that casual watchers think they’re fans of the lore but they’ve never actually taken in any of it let alone read any of the books. Actual life long fans are still a minority I feel.
Man, when this movie came out I thought it was way underrated cuz a lot of people did not like this movie. But Henry Cavill is a hell of a Superman and despite my apprehension Ben Affleck is a hell of a Batman
The thing I found dumb about some reactions of people hating on the "Martha" thing was because they didn't understand that context, for one the beginning in this universe when the Waynes get killed his dad says "Martha" to Martha as they both die having an emotional imprint on Bruce's brain forever aside from seeing them get killed as a kid, so when Superman said that it literally triggered his PTSD in that moment and secondly those ignorant haters, normies out there have no clue that since the 30's and 40's when Supes and Bats were created their moms *always* shared the same name of Martha.... If anything I found the whole Civil War scene dumber at the end with Winter Soldier and Captain America fighting Ironman, Ironman literally learned he was being played by the villain(who mind you was there and admitted it and was like haha you guys can fight each other now while I get away) and they don't think hmm maybe we should get the bad guy first? After Ironman learned Bucky was tortured, lost his arm and brainwashed to killing his family and he still said to Steve's face "I don't care, he has to die" ignoring all reason and logic. But at the time the MCU was thriving where DCEU was struggling so the MCU could do no wrong but if you look at it objectively, the Martha scene actually made more sense plus Lex was playing both of them against each other. Supes figured it out after Lex told him, but that was after Supes threatened Batman earlier so naturally between that and Batman already having animosity towards Superman for his fight with Zod destroying Metroploish and killing his friends. At least in Supes and Bats case they didn't know each other at all and Batman has a good reason to not trust Superman initially since this Superman wasn't as cautious regarding innocent casualties. At any rate, the Ultimate cut of this movie is better than the theatrical as it explains more context better.
I mean you can’t control the casualty rate when in battle while trying to save earth. There’s only so much he can do, I know his close to God but he can’t be everywhere at once. As far as Batman hating Superman I thought it was stupid because he didn’t intentionally destroy the building and kill his friends. He most likely would tried to save them if he could have
@@DevinGtv901 Yeah thats true, I get he in a lot of ways had no choice but to fight zod in the city but I also get Bruce initially hating him since that fight was indirectly responsible but glad they worked it all out. Alot of people pointed out with marvel they didn't even address collateral damage til several movies later lol
@@DevinGtv901 for sure! In Man of steel when Superman fought Zod and his henchmen, he was literally fighting multiple beings with the same powers as him. From what remember, Superman didn’t smash Zod through anywhere that was occupied, it was all Zod and his crew that smashed him through occupied buildings. And had he not killed them, they literally would have killed all life on earth to make another Krypton, so, sad to say, but one city vs the entire world 🤷♂️ lol
@@MKF30 I hated how Marvel finally did deal with collateral damage. In Civil War, first they tried to blame New York on them, which was Loki and Thanos fault, plus the government was gonna nuke the city. Then they blamed Age of Ultron on all of them, but was only Tony and Bruce’s fault. Then they blamed them for the incident at the beginning of the movie, but S.H.I.E.L.D. put them on that mission (and they are a government entity) and had Wanda not launched the bomb up, it would’ve killed all the people in that market instead of all the people in that building. And then they switched Tony and Steve’s personalities for the accords. Suddenly Captain America isn’t a soldier boy and Iron Man wants to be held back and accountable
@@kennedy6587 Yeah that is one thing I did like how DC handlebar DCEU with the collateral damage being addressed a lot faster with the Superman vs kryptonians fight where MCU waited a few movies. Thats true and one reason for their civil war aside from Tony being ok being a government pawn where Steve didn't want to be. Kinda of reminded me of the JL cartoon with Amanda Waller when she blamed all destruction on the JL protecting the Earth so they decided to not move the watch tower in space with weapons pointed down on Earth but moved remotely on Earth instead.
I live in Detroit where they filmed most of the scenes in the beginning were we see Superman fighting Zod, and they filmed most of it a few blocks away from a bar I worked at. Definitely made my commute to work a bit more irritating with all the road closures but it was definitely worth it. Now when it comes to the cities that Batman and Superman are in. Batman is from Gotham that is modeled after Chicago, London and New York according to the creators of Batman, and Superman lives in Metropolis which is modeled after New York, but is actually in Kansas where Superman’s “hometown” Smallville is located.
Still believe that court room scene is one of the best in any superhero film. The quiet and the tension that was built as the scene progressed was great flim making.
I love the fact Snyder cast Jeffery Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan as Thomas & Martha Wayne. In the comics Thomas Wayne becomes Batman and Martha becomes The Joker in The Flash story Flashpoint. Snyder had planned to end his universe with a Flashpoint movie. And Jeffrey Dean Morgan would've been great as that version of Batman. Batman in the comics has a strong aversion to killing but he has killed. In films he's killed in every film except Batman and Robin & possibly The Batman (he is shown hanging people but we never see if they are alive or not). No one really cares about Batman killing until the Nolan films & even though he killed there too they don't like to bring it up. In the comics Lex Luthor originally appeared as a red haired mad scientist. The rich Donald Trump type didn't start until the 1980's revamp by John Byrne. Since then Lex has been mostly straight laced, with mostly being bald but stories like Birthright and the Lex Luthor Jr with Lex in the body story does have him with hair. As for his persona that's another element from both his original incarnation and Birthright. The guy that pushes the woman on the train tracks is KG Beast, a Russian assassin from "The Hammer" a group coming off the KGB. In the comics Batman locked KG Beast up to die & initially he does actually die. That was later retconned as him having survived. It's one of the few times in the last 30 years where Batman cold heartedly let someone die & caused it.
and superman being petty and beating up his bully in that bar. man of steel he just destroyed a truck. oh yeah.... and those powerless kryptonians were killed.... idc about them somehow getting put in handcuffs in a different ending
Extremely underrated movie, saw it in Imax 3D when it first came out and it was fucking sick....soundtrack is so fire too, I think with time people will realize it's actually a pretty good super hero film
As someone who grew up reading both Superman and Batman comics and loving the movies back in the 80's and 90's. I never understood the obsession with them fighting each other. Batman is a "detective" that brings justice to his city when the police can't. He's cool headed and rational in his approach to whatever he does, and he never kills anyone or even thinks about killing them because that isn't real justice. For B vs S, you literally have to change his personality to make this happen. He throws away his cool headed and rational part of himself to go after Superman with a want to kill him. "an alien. If he wanted to, could burn the whole place down. There wouldn't be a damn thing we could do to stop it." Sounds like something Lex would say, not Batman. As a Superman fan also, I don't see how Batman ever wins against him. Everyone always brings up how smart Batman is. Two of Superman's villains are extremely smart, Lex Luther is the smarted human on earth according to D.C. and Brainiac is the smartest being in the universe. Who beats them on the regular? Superman! So being smart alone can't beat Superman. Plus, no one ever address how smart Superman is/could be. He is the son of two of the smartest scientists from an advanced alien race. You don't think he's going to inherit any of that from his biological parents? Get the F out of here.

DC mostly doesn’t use our actual city names like marvel. Gotham (in New Jersey) is Batman, metropolis (New York city) is Superman, central city (Kansas City) is flash, Wonder Woman is mostly around wash DC and gateway city.
People seem to not understand that Bruce isn’t mad at Superman alone solely for destroying big parts of Metropolis, but for even bringing the fight to earth. Zod wouldn’t even had come here if Superman weren’t here in the first place. He’s mad for outsider aliens coming to fight on earth and bringing human lives into it. It’s extremely understandable. I think it’s a very realistic reaction. Also the fact that Batman doesn’t kill people is a huge misunderstanding that I’m not sure why so many ppl believe. There are many many versions of Batman thru comics and movies and lots of them kill people. This isn’t anything new really
@DevinG in a "straight up fight yes Superman would win 100/100 times but Batman is a detective of no equal, his will power has no equal (said by Green lantern when he gave Bruce his magic ring that works on willpower, Batman would always beat Superman as he would out think him and prey upon his weakness like Kryptonite, his Love of Lois Lane, and his inability to truly go "all out" (said by Superman dozens of times) as Kal would be afraid he would kill someone as he is that strong. If you just want endless strength on strength hulk would be a better "fight". But be it the animated series, the animated films or the comics from Darkside to Joker NO DC Hero scares ppl more then Batman
This movie got lot of hate cause Superman Killed Zod & tried to kill Bat-Man(it was too dark a movie). I think Zakk Snyders (Snyder-verse),.....was phenomenal. They really screwed up what could have been. Loved this movie.
This movie is fire. Superman would realistically smash Batman like a cockroach. But neither of these heroes kills. But great reaction! Let’s give a thumbs up everyone.
if you dont mind animated films The Dark Knight Returns is way better than the live action its two parts and based very closely of Frank Millers 1986 Comic it has a great Bats vs Supes fight plus a bunch of others
Rumor was, Snyder wanted his Lex to be a erratic genius to start but then learning all he did from the ship leveled him out after his brain adjusted in the cell or something 🤷 makes performance better imo
I think the writing/delivery in some scenes kinda killed the character for most people, he definitely works I just think it could of been done a bit better
I swear man all yo uh guy can thjnk of is Clancy Brown or Gene Hackman when it comes to Luthor but that nitvthe only why Lex has been protrayed. Plus this version technically won. He killed Superman. Hkw many other Lexs can say that?
"This is how a democracy works" "In a democracy, morality is a conversation" etc. This woman doesn't seem to know what country she is in. America is not a democracy, it is a republic founded on immutable principles based on Christian truths that it is illegal to change. The majority mob doesn't have the right to upend the constitution. Also, her statements presuppose that morality is absolutely relative, which is a self-refuting position. Either morals are absolute and unchangeable, or they are relative and therefore imaginary. If they are absolute, we can judge whether Superman is moral or immoral; if they are relative, nothing Superman does can be logically condemned as immoral.

This movie is absolute 🔥 It gets alot of hate from comic book nerds that have never read The Dark Night or the comic book wheee doomsday kills superman. Also Marvel fans hate this movie because its too dark and serious, they prefer the goofy comedy based superhero movies the MCU make. There is no dance fighting like in the guardians movie, one liners from iron man, or alcoholic obese Thor type humor in these DC movues. Also no constant arguing among all the superhero characters. There also is no basic kid level plots, these movies have comolicated plots that tie together as you go from one movie to the next. This movie makes you think and doesnt spoon feed you to keep you intersted if your lazy mentally. I love love love Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Zack Snyders League. Throw in The Watchmen movie and you literally have a group of Cinematic Masterpieces to enjoy for years because they all have a high rate of re-watch quality. Much like Zack Snyders 300 movie about the Spartans.

The one point that kills me is that the Senator calls the US a democracy. We're not a democracy. We're a Constitutional Republic.
you gotta check out “American Assassin” such a good movie
Here one thing people needs to understand Batman is strong he may not be no god but he got some super strength
Jesse Eisenberg isn't Lex Luthor. He plays Lex Luthor, Jr. Son of the original late Lex Luthor. -OG
Umm, Lex IS a Jr. In the Comics.
@Fenris30 The comics. Sure. Lionel Luthor was Lex Luthor's dad outside of that. I think that's the distinction. -OG
Is this the ultimate edition?
it is
Yes it is
I love this movie
This movie gets so much hate. I freakin love it. Dark, gritty, tough. Everything I want in a super hero movie.
The only thing that I disliked about this film was Jesse eisenberg's portrayal of Lex Luthor. Lex is crazy, but he hides it from the public.
For real, if Batman comes from Gotham and Superman from Metropolis, where did they met?! Where is this place in film, do anyone know it?
Yea i liked this movie too
yeah real ones recognize CT Fletcher. Can't wait for you to watch Zack Snyder's Justice League. It also has another bodybuilder in there lol
This movie got lot of hate cause Superman Killed Zod & tried to kill Bat-Man(it was too dark a movie). I think Zakk Snyders (Snyder-verse),.....was phenomenal. They really screwed up what could have been. Loved this movie.
Batman beat every member of the Justice League.
The ultimate edition is better than the theatrical edition.
Yes, Superman is a guy that can pick up a bus 😅
This movie is fire. Superman would realistically smash Batman like a cockroach. But neither of these heroes kills. But great reaction! Let’s give a thumbs up everyone.
Hell Yea Superman would SMASH him. The only reason he didn’t when had the chance is ONLY because he’s good
Batman always beat the shit out of him in the comics
@@imed-ha77 Yes. But realistically (I know it's a comic book), Batman would stand no chance.
Batman if you dig a little deeper killed quite a bit
@@JangTheKimsuperman kills if he has to. he doesn't have a no kill rule like batman.
if you dont mind animated films The Dark Knight Returns is way better than the live action its two parts and based very closely of Frank Millers 1986 Comic it has a great Bats vs Supes fight plus a bunch of others
Jesse eisenberg still isn’t my first pick for lex luthor.maybe the riddler or something but not lex lol
he wasn't a good Lex Luthor
I think he is superb.
The animated DC movie does a much better job of showing the fight. You should check it out.
Yo what happened to your original channel
Run up the likes and subscribe!
You know it!! Appreciate you fam
This is the most misunderstood comic book movie of all time and Ben Affleck is the best Batman of all time
Dude, who is general Zorg??
If it was ur entire family bet you would feel diff
During tragedies or difficult times shows the true character of humans.
Wow
Casting Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor was the only reason I disliked this film. Man is not a great villain.
Brah, where is the rest of the lord of the rings movies?
MARTHAAA!!!!!
Such a terrible movie 😂
I take Superman any day of the week over Batman
Batman as always🦇
@@imed-ha77 Agree Batman was on earth far longer he been a hero first he done so much for Gotham and save lives and now we have an alian coming to earth and all of sudden becomes a hero I hate Superman for telling Batman to not go to the spotlight and that Superman can do thay jov
Can Batman fly next to the Sun?
@@lefty_13 who cares about Superman Batman for life
@@TakakiM-sr1df apparently you do
This movie is absolute 🔥 It gets alot of hate from comic book nerds that have never read The Dark Night or the comic book wheee doomsday kills superman.
Only clicked on the vid to caution any and all movie reaction channels to stay away from this movie!!!!!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!! so i have no doubt if i skip to end of this video I'll hear my dude singing the praises of this movie, and I will skip and if I'm wrong I'll come back and apologize ok? But this movie is poison to reactors. We all know that basically you are all going to find some way of enjoying or making it seem like you are not watching garbage, ok? We know and we still watch and enjoy! 🥰👍 But anyone who says THIS movie is good INSTANTLY loses all credibility, are we clear?🤣
