Reinhart is a huge trap. Paying a guy who's going into free agency after a career year is dangerous. Someone's going to get it in their heads that he'd a 60 goal guy now and pay him 11m. When he's not he's still a 30 goal 60 point winger who should probably make 7-8. I want no part in that. I dig Lindholm. I think he drives possession. He's not elite offensively but the Bruins have proven over the years this system doesn't need elite offensive centers. If you have a responsible two way center who drives possession everything else clicks. You don't play as much in your own end so the offense has more time to cycle. More time to cycle means you tier out the other d. Tiring out the other d means you get better chances as the game goes on. So your offense improves. You aren't pinner in your own end because the pucks up the other side of the ice which means your defense improves. You aren't getting hemmed in as much the other team isn't getting to cycle. Your d isn't getting as tired they don't give up as many great chances as the game goes on which lets your goal tending look better. A props possession 1c is what they need 100%. Not a scoring winger, not a two way left d. A possession driving center.
I know Haggs is watching the Finals. If the Oilers come all the way back and win it, I hope he changes his mind on how you build a Stanley Cup champion. Panthers are a free agent collection while the Oilers are not. Haggs's view seems to be that you build the Bs up through free agent signings, not threw the draft, which obviously takes longer. Free agents are great if you have that one key missing piece, and maybe you hit on it through a signing or two but not to build complete lines. Haggs is on Sweeny to build the team with free agents, and he has cited the Panthers as a model. If the Panthers lose, will Haggs pivot? Probably not!
shore was the best dman of his era . tiny thompson best goalie of his era, orr best player of all time, Esposito was the best goal, scorer of his era many forget he was the only one to go past 70 goals and consistently over 60 untill wayne came around, Bourque u could argue was the best of his era at d .. chara was one of the most unique generation talents we could ever get, bergeron is the best defensive forward of all time, the oilers had gretzky , mcdavid, and coffey ...i don count draistial as i don't consider him the best or 2nd or 3rd at anything in his era ....
Bruins hope make some big moves this year.& not money ball players sweeney.grit scorers & not a 1 year players bandage for the team.players who want to win a cup with the bruins
Haggs is exactly the type of myopic fan that wants his team to overpay for short-term results on longterm UFA contracts that age poorly, hamstringing the franchise’s cap space for many future seasons. Two thumbs down.

Well said. Think Matt Belesky.
Thank God they didn't get Pierre and I would hate to see Linus in the division.

Hate to admit it, Bruins gave the Panthers a scare 😱
Don't bring Debrusk back.
