      Lonewolf902, have you ever been hunted by coyotes out there? I recently had a pack come up on our picnic and they were very bold..
      I'm wondering how you might defend from attack if you're in a hammock.

      True! There are simpler set ups to start, you really only need 4 things. A hammock, something to keep you dry, something to keep your top warm, something to keep your butt warm. The rest are perks.

    I just bought all of these items (minus the top quilt)--have yet to use them--but they all come highly recommended all over the hammock community. I'm super excited to try them out. This has to be the MOST informative video on these specific items on UA-cam, hands down. I have been lurking, searching and viewing all of them I've come across prior to my purchases...and none have been as thorough as this. Thanks for the video, and Good job!

    I have some of these items including the tarp. The rain fly is the bomb! I’ve been in snow and severe thunderstorms with heavy wind and rain. I would recommend using thin pvc pipe to use as spreaders for those mid tie down points.

    I just discovered onewind and recently used the same tarp you showed but with a bridge hammock. The tarp quality is pretty good but I do worry about the seam tape coming off. Otherwise, construction of the tarp looks amazing for 90 bucks. I am considering looking at their other products especially after watching your video. They definitely offer a more affordable option for a fully decked out hammock set up. Thanks for taking the time to show us your gear. Hopefully, they take your suggestion for the guy line tensioners on the ridge line of the tarp. Personally, I use a continuous ridge line but your set up is much simpler.

    Here , Down South , I don't use an under quilt. Staying cool at night is the major problem. I use a self inflating full length mummy style air mattress. It's about 1/2 to 3/4 inflated so it conforms to my body and the hammock. Also a double bottom hammock is desired , the double bottom stops the mosquitos from biting threw it. This also protects the arms and any other body part touching the inside of the hammock. My choice ( lately ) is the Warbonnet Blackbird with the attached bug netting to the top of it. Over the last 60 or so years of hammock camping I have acquired a lot of hammocks both single and double bottom ones. Never had a bad one , some were just better. Hammocks are the best leave no trace camping items.

    Over the past couple months, I've been getting hammock gear, I got a top quit and bottom quilt, wasn't really paying attention to brands, but, both ended up being OneWind, my hammock is some random company, I'm not a huge fan. Got a gear hammock, that turned out to be OneWind as well. Decided, since I've been accidentally buying OneWind stuff without intending to, and their products are all high quality and have feature other companies don't offer, I took a look at all their hammock products and gotd damn... Wish I would have just went straight One Wind for everything 😂😂 but I'll be buying the rest of their gear over the next few months now and keep the hammock I have now, for friends who go camping withe 😊😊

    I have been using hammocks for years, first i had hammocks with a built in bug net I was getting bit from below, thru the hammock, then I went full surround bug net, I like that much better, I picked up two or three cheap off amazon.ca. and they are all vertical center zip, I find that is very easy to get in and out of quickly. I like the top and bottom quilt that can work in conjunction. I also like the tarp it seems like a good set up. weight is always a concern for me because I am not 20. for example i use a camonest hammock with loops at each end, then I have 1/4 inch accessory strap from MEC. for my light weight straps, I connect my hammock with the becket hitch so no hardware is necessary. I use dutch bling, to limit knots on my ridgeline set up and tarp guy out points. it's all about light weight for me. just got into underquilts a bit before that I always used a thermarest pad in my hammocks.

    Great video! How do you think a pad between hammock and under quilt will work out?

    • @pedroclaro7822
      @pedroclaro7822 Рік тому

      Underquilts are loose so as not to compress the insulation. If you place a pad there it will literally be dead weight. I have heard fo DD hammockers who use the underblanket and a trekking pad inside too, so if you want both then do that.

    Is there any difference between folding the quilts vs stuffing in the bag?

    • @Lonewolfwildcamping
      @Lonewolfwildcamping  3 роки тому

      No difference just one way is much faster

    • @emmahammond5088
      @emmahammond5088 3 роки тому

      @@Lonewolfwildcamping so misplacing your stuffing won't happen? I was told if I dont take the time to fold and roll my stuffing would shift and create weakness points from creases...I can stuff?doin it.way faster

      @Lonewolfwildcamping  3 роки тому

      I find it packs faster non folded, and often I pack without a stuff sack in my backpack

    Great very in depth video! I'm just now learning about hammock camping. Do you feel this is a good backpacking system or more for general camping?

    Just found your channel and great over view of the products. Question: would the rain fly be wide enough for two hammocks with a spreader bar? I want to use this setup with my son but don’t want to be squished in.

    A couple of questions.
    Does one wind sell THIS as a entire package or is it all separate?
    How much did all of this cost you?

    Are the adjusters you use on the Ridgeline the same as on the guyout points? Thinking of using the 2 that come on the UQ stuff sack as ridgeline adjusters.

    I want to buy a new under quilt and have seen the onewind under quilt on Amazon but they have several versions. Do you know what version this one is? I.e. temperature rating? I was looking at the dd under blanket which is rated to -5 but I like the idea of using the button snaps to create a cocoon

    Hi my friend thanks for the info!! I just wanted to know if my onewind 12 feet hammock will fit correctly the 12 feet hammock tarp...?

  • @Sir-Kay
    @Sir-Kay 2 роки тому

    Their Tarps don't always come with the snakeskin thing or what? I'm lost. If I order the One Wind Hammock or Tarp like the ones you presented here in this video, do I have to specify I want the snakeskin? if yes, does it cost more? what is actually the snakeskin in these systems, what's the advantage over the regular hammock and Tarps?

    quick question my one wind underquilt came with cordage attached to the ends, but it also has a bag of the same setup with bungee cords, do you think i should keep it as is with the cordage? or swap out to the bungee cord????
